If I'm doing it myself after a track event, I usually use Lubro Molly in the 0W40 blend. So far been happy with both. I just sent the link of my pics from June 6 @ Laguna Seca to a couple of friends. One of them noticed this: http://www.headonphotos.net/Galleries/2002/DC-0506/35/pages/IMG_0002.htm hehehe! All I know is that the car felt great, and ever single instructor that's driven in it or ridden in it with my current supsension has had nothing but compliments as to the balanced feel. Sure didn't feel like a wheel was coming up, but it does look kinda cool. I think I'll buy this set and hope that the large version of the pic doesn't show that it's just an illusion. ;) Jonathan L. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

I've seen multiple rotor failures (BMW and Porsche) in a single weekend at VIR. I replace mine based on my totally subjective evaluation of size, length, and number of cracks. That usually happens long before they reach any wear limit. Hey, rotors are cheaper than pads these days!

#5. Pads replaced on Rogue Kit - from Jason Sarich

Date: Tue, 28 May 2002 18:30:45 -0700 From: "Jason Sarich" <sarich_m3@prontomail.com> Subject: Pads replaced on Rogue Kit Well, I just replaced the Hawk HPS pads on the rogue kit with Hawk HP+ pads (on the stock rear brakes too). I ran into 2 problems... #1 These things scream like banshee's...Louder than the Hawk Blues I have heard on the race track. I didn't think to put any compound on them or anything. Does anyone have any suggestions to fully remove the redness from my face when stopping in traffic? #2 The ABS light came on after about 3 minutes of driving and braking... I have since then removed the only functioning brake sensor from the right rear stock caliper and taped it up with duct tape. That problem is gone, but I don't understand why it was alerting me. There was plenty of clearance. Do you guys/gals think there is a short somewhere on the sensor? Let me know if anyone has suggestions for #1/#2. Date: Tue, 28 May 2002 21:11:40 -0500 From: "Jeff A" <aabel@austin.rr.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Pads replaced on Rogue Kit Jason, About the only thing I've used that will stop squeaky brakes is the red goop from CRC. It comes in a squeeze bottle, and sets up sort of tacky, and eventually forms a permatex-like elastomer bond b/t pad and caliper. It's quite effective. The problem, however, is that it tends to leave a lot of residue on the backing plates that's a PITA to remove for reapplication if you swap b/t street and track pads like me. But for the person who uses one set of pads for all types of driving, it's a great solution. I'm not sure the stuff is worth the hassle of scraping off and reapplying every month or two for a track event though. Justin, Which tranny do you have? Manual or Automatic? If Manual tranny, I can help. The capacity is less than 2 quarts for the manual. Have you changed the tranny fluid yet? If not, then I can guaran-damn-tee you the tranny drain plugs are so tight you may blow a blood vessel trying to unscrew them. I resorted to using a 17 mm impact socket on a 15 inch 1/2" drive breaker bar and then a 18" piece of gas pipe on the end of that. Be sure to remove the top (fill) plug first to make sure you can refill the tranny if you get the bottom (drain) plug out. Lowell Seaton '95 M3 Dallas, Texas
