#1. HID Angel Eyes... - from Rustysells@aol.com

Date: Wed, 29 May 2002 17:05:47 EDT From: Rustysells@aol.com Subject: HID Angel Eyes... I just bought Bavarian Autosport's version of these for my 95 M3 Coupe. In addition to the low beams, aren't the Angel Eyes supposed to be HID? My mechanic installed them and the Angel Eye portion of the headlight is the same "yellow" color of the high beams. Did he miss a connection somewhere? Thanks!

Did he miss a connection > somewhere? Rusty (did I guess your name correctly), This is clearly a question best answered by your vendor. You were installing a non-BMW part and God only knows what color it will shine. Another way to look at this non-problem is to admit that 'angel eyes' are a cosmetic fad that is equally non-functional in either white, yellow or blue colors. YMMV. alex f

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else feel that 1.3 Qts. in the transmission is a little light on the quantity side? Hey, I'm not one to second-guess the engineers at BMW, they obviously know a thing or two about this, I was just a little surprised at how little lubricant is required. My old toploader took 3 or more Qts and was physically about the same size as the BMW 5 speed (is it a Getrag, I could look, but don't care that much) Mel -----Original Message----- From: Jim Bassett [mailto:jimbassett@attbi.com] Sent: Wednesday, May 29, 2002 12:24 PM To: E36M3 Subject: Re: [E36M3] Mobil 1 Questions Date: Wed, 29 May 2002 10:22:21 -0700 From: Jim Bassett <jimbassett@attbi.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Mobil 1 Questions At 06:53 AM 5/29/02, JUSTIN GERRY wrote: >Capacity in the diff is about 1.5 to 2 quarts, tranny is about 3 or 4 >quarts right? Date: Wed, 29 May 2002 18:21:53 -0500 From: Sue Kraft <suekraft@new.rr.com> Subject: List stickers are in! (repost) Juat a reminder to all that the list decals are in. Below is a copy of the ordering info that was posted last week. ****************************************************** Just got the list decals and they turned out great. Remember that these are vinyl cling, so there is no adhesive. They are designed to be placed on the inside of the window. With a little water/windex, you can squeegee out any bubbles from behind the cling. Price is the same as quoted earlier - 2/$10. Either check or cash is fine, and should be sent to: Sue Kraft 835 Neufeld St. Green Bay, Wi 54304 Would also be great if everyone could remember to enclose a self addressed, stamped envelope with payment, as this will greatly expedite shipping, and help defray the cost as well. Just in case you missed it in my post yesterday, here's a picture of one of the decals installed on Ben Liaw's car http://www.bmw-m.net/decal.htm Any questions? Please let me know. And thanks everyone for supporting the list! Your help is much appreciated. Suzy suekraft@new.rr.com

With the ABS light illuminated, the ASC "traction controll" light illuminates as well. I believe you about the sensors, however, since I have disconnected the sensors (the front was disconnected on the install by the shop I had do it, and I just disconnected and taped up the rear sensor) I have not had any ABS lights coming on regardless of braking and whatnot. By plenty of clearance, I meant that the rotor was nowhere near the pad or sensor and had plenty of clearance before it would touch. The brake wear sensor has nothing to do with the ABS system.  The ABS system uses it's own sensors located at each wheel.  The brake wear sensors are located on the left front and the right rear only.  Unless your brake wear light is illuminated on the dash (again, different from the ABS light), both sensors are alright or you have simply wired the sensor wires together.  Not sure what you mean exactly when you refer to removing "the only functioning brake sensor" or to "plenty of clearance"? I have not heard before of the ABS light illuminating and going out in this fashion so I really can't help you much. Also, are you referring to the ABS light as the anti-lock braking system or the ABS light which some are referring to the air bag system.  I assume you are properly referring to the ABS light as the anti-lock braking system for this exercise. Date: Wed, 29 May 2002 21:42:26 -0400 From: "Andrew-Taylor Autosport" <astaylor@taylorautosport.com> Subject: AP clutch--for use with LW flywheel... All, I'm tired of replacing the clutch disc in my street '95M3 every 12k miles so it's time to do something about it. I'm an AP racing distributor, and have had them make some special application clutch discs for me in the past. Who all would be interested in an organic high performance AP clutch, that was a direct replacement for stock, AND had a sprung centered hub to use with lightweight flywheels to eliminate that d*mned tranny rattle you get with the LW flywheel... Price will be about $249 for the disc (if there are enough people interested to get a minimum order... (and can also be used with my AP HD release bearing)... (Suzy said it was okay to ask the list about this, so please no flames for spamming...) Thanks, Andrew http://www.taylorautosport.com/

First $3600 takes them. Let me rephrase this...first $3600 gets all four shocks, with spring perches.
