He'll want to reuse the oil pan, dipstick, intake, exhaust, valve/head cover, damper, sensors, computer, etc., and all the other little stuff off his 3.0L engine. Just use the 3.2L long block. He'll also need to leave the obd-2 crank sensor in to plug the hole at the back of the 3.2L block, just don't wire it up. He can treat it just like his 3.0L, it's just a little larger swept volume internally. He'll pass smog fine if the parts are all in good running order. You can take a guess how I know. -- Roger Baker "Kris Welhart" <kris.welhart@cyou.com> wrote: > A friend of mine over-reved his 95 M3 this past weekend and is > evaluating his options. Actually, 12k is the minimum of clutch wear I've ever gotten. That was with a stock flywheel. I've gotten as little as 12k and as much as 22k before I noticed excessive slippage from stock Sachs discs on this car. The flywheel doesn't effect clutch wear (unless the surface finish of the friction surface was real screwy, or you did get the cheese grater option). I think it's more that irresistable urge to do donuts ;-) Or turn the car around in the middle of the road by sidestepping the clutch at 6k ;-) Or those irresistable ... ... The benefit of using the AP clutch I speak of having made with a LW flywheel, is that I can have AP make the clutch with a sprung centered hub to damp drivetrain shock. Normally, the stock (dual-mass) flywheel accomplishes this feat...however, when you get rid of that dual-mass, and still have a rigid centered clutch, that drivetrain shock has alot (or everything) to do with the tranny rattle everyone reports using the LW single mass flywheel. It's noteworthy that all the other cars that BMW used to produce using single mass flywheels had sprung centered clutches. The whole point is to use a friction material that is superior to stock Sachs (in fact the disc I speak of will be rated to 340 lb-ft of torque), and incorporating the sprung center to get rid that d*mn tranny rattle. Andrew <--can be 'mildly' abusive to wear items, although I must say, the e36m3 uses clutches faster than any car I've ever had...

#7. abs light - from kit wetzler

This simply isn't true because one has nothing to > do with the other The traction control system uses the ABS sensors to determine wheel slippage. (is rear wheel speed = front wheel speed, if not, loss of traction has occured) I found that I got an ABS light when I removed the ASC actuator. I don't have ASC, but I put the actuator back and the light went away. That said, you might have a dead ABS sensor if the light remains on... -kit
