#2. RE: [E36M3] FS: Someone looking for a 99' E36 M3? - from Matt Henson

Also, Kelly blue book is generally not very accurate; I think that it's purpose is to justify high prices for used car dealers. In general, I've found Edmunds to be much more accurate. They say that the '99M3 is worth around 30K, which reflects the pricing trends that I've observed both locally and on the internet. Of course, if a real special car comes along then the general pricing trends don't really matter. My comment was not intended to be so much of a "Hey they should lower their price" as a "Gee, looking around, the prices of E36M3's sure have gone down lately." After all, in a a free market, the actual sales price will be determined by the buyer, not the geek on the other end of the internet who makes armchair price estimates on a car he's never seen :-). -Matt --- Bob Lenarcik <lenarcik@pacbell.net> wrote: > > If the car is located in San Jose, then I know it. > The owner is a close > friend and used to be list member. Some people think the AC is adequate, and some people don't. I wonder if that tells us which list members have black interiors? - Chris, 95 M3 with black interior

Yep, really happy to be paroled to Upstate NY.(Far from the city, thank God). Definitely move north. Don't think the Germans have the concept of 100+ temps and slow traffic. I assume both of your cars are tinted. No amount of AC trouble shooting could get my wife's E36 to cooling as efficiently as my M3 down here in Dallas. Not until we got her car tinted. alex f

Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2002 12:03:59 -0400 From: "Seth Thomas" <porsche993@mindspring.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] RE: AC I find this to be a problem on most of the new cars that use the new R134? system or the ones that have switched from Freon. I don't know if it is the new refrigerant or the new design of the systems but all the cars I have owned since about 1994 have been like this. Currently my 2000 Chevy Dually, E30 M3 with all E36 motor and A/C parts, and my last E36 M3 street car all suffered the inadequate A/C system while idling in traffic. I have even seen this on a couple Porsche 993s, BMW M5, BMW X5, and some other cars. Now my 1985 Pontiac Bonneville that still uses Freon never suffers from this problem and it is a big POS. But hey this is all just a thought.
