The spring rates are #325, #400, #450, #550. THe kit also comes with the GC bushings for the rear trailing arms. This kit is the street/track kit that has the shrortened front struts for full suspension travel. I am asking $1150.00 nego. picture of the kit upon request. This will save about $200.00. The toe was waaay screwy. I'd appreciate any comments on the results as I did not get numbers before I began my upgrades. The car feels proper and stable again, but is still just a tad lax in steering response. I'm curious how much the rear toe will affect this (feels like the front wants to dart like it used to, but the back lags behind) and I don't believe the tech altered the rear at all (I was observing most of the procedure. For the record, I could see that it was a Hunter machine, but H/L or something was all I could make out for the model. Pending input from those of you in the know, I'm thinking of taking it to the dealership for another complete alignment. I noticed some of the specs from Firestone's Hunter are different than those in the Bentley manual. Aside from the exhaust hangers anyway. Any > gaskets or bolts that are best not used again? Replace the two gaskets. Most dealerships have them in stock, they are $11 and $13. (you need one of each size.) And, Peter is right, get new stock nuts... the stock nuts are copper and not only don't fall off, but are only good for one use. (they are deformed to simulate nylock nuts, but don't melt.) -kit -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

Its NOT the same stuff as factory. That goopy stuff should be called "rust enhancer". Factory stuff is made by wurth and I think it gets painted on the car. The closest undercoating that I've found is also made by wurth, and it has a plastic base and it much stronger that the tar/oil based stuff. Might cost you a bit more but your car will be happier in the long run. Definitely clean up the area around it first. Usually its good to remove a bit more undercoating around the offending spot so you get underneath to get at dry metal. Of course use liberal amounts of silicone when putting the new jack pad on to keep it from falling off the car again. my 02 cents.. -Justin -- '76 02 (Whimsical) (rust never sleeps... ) '97 M3 (Orion) BMW CCA#77056 check out http://users.vei.net/jgerry >You can get this stuff (not necessarily in the same color) from >parts stores like Advance or AutoZone. >I have 99 M3 and have lost a jack support pad. What I was alluding to was the fact that a lot of those parts come across all beat up and stuff. What is your warranty on items like that? I know that if I was Wayne and paid $3500 for a tranny and it shifts like the way it does, I wouldn't be too happy. My point was that if any place was going to charge you around there, you'd be better off springing for the new or remanufactured part from BMW directly. If the 6 speed is only $1k, then go for it as that's not terribly expensive. Heck, even with the euro engine, I'd have someone rip it apart and rebuild it just in case. Are you saying it might actually cause rust under the car? I may go remove it and put the BMW stuff on it if this is a concern. Anyway, as Jim stated the Underbody sealant is as he described and IS a body shop type of fix. I was hoping for a solution that I could do, especially since the damage to my undercoating is very small, but it appears not be the case.
