Hmmm...I have often heard of many of these 'well-timed' hammers...err....rocks. :-) Just kidding, I know no one here would ever do anything like that. Regards, Rich 95 M3 - could use a well timed rock but they just seem to hit the hood or roof and miss the windshield.

You're welcome to swing by the area and use my 'hammer', the beltway around Washington which perpetually seems to be under construction. So not only do you get the *lovely* DC traffic, you get the construction vehicles spewing stuff at you. Andrej '97 M3 that'll never be a concours winner

Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2002 15:27:11 -0700 (PDT) From: russell <driver8m3@yahoo.com> Subject: windshield cost the total for mine (original bmw glass) was $377. i paid only my $250 deductible. i think lots of people have full glass coverage and would get it totally free. on the invoice, it lists "list" price for the windshield at $819. the "selling" price was listed at $196.76. $40 for labor, and $125 for some kind of installation kit. russell dakar 99 ===== "the state is the great fiction by which everyone seeks to live at the expense of everyone else" --frederic bastiat __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I missed the beginning of this thread, so I apologize if I'm OTL here, but... Koni makes two shocks for the rear of the E36 M3: 1) single-adjustable (rebound only) Sports which are collapse-to-adjust only. 2) double-adjustable Sports which feature external adjustments for both bump (near the lower attachment point) and rebound (at the top of the shock accessible by cutting/drilling a flap or hole in the trunk carpet. My bet is that's what Chris was referring to. Singles are about $175/ea and the externally adjustable doubles are $345/ea. Both are currently available through at least two sources I know of. --Bob

Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2002 17:49:08 -0500 From: Sue Kraft <suekraft@new.rr.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] M5 I would have posted about the M5 sooner, but I was waiting for someone else to ask about it so I wouldn't get in trouble for being off topic :-) The M5 is basically everything I hoped it would be and more. Very nice, super clean and scary fast. Almost too fast, if that's possible. I've only driven it a couple hundred miles so far, but everything is working perfectly, including the turbo. Even at 90 mph, the car will set you back in the seat when you step on the gas. It's unreal. The thing that really surprised me is how nice the car rides with the Dinan stage 4 suspension. I thought it might rattle my teeth loose but that is not the case at all. Proves if you do it right, you don't have to give up a nice ride for better handling. Just got a case of Redline oil a few days ago, so when the car is on the rack for an oil change I'll have a look at the bottom side of the car. It certainly looks good from the top!
