Date: Wed, 17 Jul 2002 20:57:19 EDT From: RacerxJLing@aol.com Subject: 3.0 to 3.2liter conversion Hello- I am about to do a 3.2 96+ M3 motor in a 95 M3 (build date 8/95). Does anyone know of the parts needed to make the conversion? I heard I would need to drill a hole in the 3.2L block since the 95 M3's have 2 sensors instead of 1 in the 96+ M3s Anything else? Thanks Jeff 95 M3 105xxx miles

#5. Part #'s for E46 RSM and Z3 Reinforcing Plate? - from David Hogg

Will someone post these, please, along with the required hardware? I'm de-tuning the street car a little, as I'm driving longer distances for work now. The JTD RSM must go, the Koni's are going to get softer, and the stock muffler is going back in (it's hard to hear Rush). All the braces, Fikse's and Sharking will remain. TIA. Dave Hogg

#8. [E36M3] WTB: used strut housing or used Dinan suspension - from Colin_S_Whelan@rrfc.raytheon.com

Date: Thu, 18 Jul 2002 10:04:31 -0400 From: Colin_S_Whelan@rrfc.raytheon.com Subject: [E36M3] WTB: used strut housing or used Dinan suspension Hi everyone, Well, the M3 has 43K miles and the suspension is feeling pretty tired. After much thought, I think I'm going with the Dinan springs and Koni shocks. Is there any difference between the Dinan Konis and the standard Koni for the M3 (besides price!)? First, I'd loved to buy a used set of M3 front strut housing, so I can gut and assemble the Koni inserts, before I disassemble the whole front suspension. Did anyone have a low mileage, straight (unbent) set laying around that they might want to sell? Also, just a shot, anyone have a low mileage (< 15K) Dinan springs, or Koni struts/springs hanging around that they might want to part with? So far my parts list is: E46 M3 rear shock mounts, Z3 reinforcement plates, gaskets, bolts and nuts Front camber correction bolts (might as well get an extra 1/2 degree while I'm at it) Front strut bolts and nuts with locktite For special tools: 22 mm top strut socket with sides ground off 16 mm thin Cone wrench for sway bar endlinks Koni adjustment wrench for front spring compressor Anything that I'm missing? Thanks, Colin '98 M3/2 (JC intake & software, X-brace, Euro rotors and R4S, redline, clutch stop....)
