Yah, it's pretty weird - we both have the same model of K-macs, and the same model of H&R c/o's. (well, same p/n on the springs anyway). Springs are whatever come standard with the c/o's. We weighed the cars and my car was like 15 lbs lighter than Kit's. I wonder if they had a batch of mislabled front springs? I better see what H&R has to say... :\ scott --- John Van Houten <jvh_lists@ix.netcom.com> wrote: > > I'm running K-mac camber plates in the front. Anyone have a black leather one for sale? How hard is the install? Anyone have any pictures of it installed? How does that effect the cup holders? Thanks! -Mike

What do you mean his kit weighed 15#s heavier than yours? Did you weigh them on the car or off? Was this out of the package or the packaging weight? Just a curious question. My CAR weighed ~15lbs less than his, in reference to JohnVH wondering if my car was heavy enough to lower the ride height significantly. OTOH, I was disappointed that there was so little weight difference in our cars, Kit has a '97 Lux 4-dr and I have a '97 non-lux 2-dr. Oh well, at least I could start working out and lose 10 pounds! scott --- Seth Thomas <porsche993@mindspring.com> wrote: > Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 14:03:50 -0400 > From: "Seth Thomas" <porsche993@mindspring.com> > Subject: RE: [E36M3] H&R coilovers... too low. > > Just a quick question. Nope, my '97 2 door is armrest-less. >>How does that effect the cup holders? > When in the "down" position, only the front cupholder is useable. At least on my '97, the cupholders, coin tray & ashtray are all modular snap-in pieces. You can move them around as necessary. Or alternately, you can pull all 4 of them out, then you can see how the whole piece where those snap into attaches. Pull that out, cut up a mouse pad and lay it down in the hole. Presto, 3"x12" cubby for coins, cell fones, other junk. Cupholders? We don't need no stinkin cupholders! Andrej '97 M3

Thus virtually everyone who drives a arm-rested M3 on track bungee cords ties it in the 'up' position. alex f '95 M3 - we don't need no stinking center arm rests OR cup holders!

Two addendums: 1. They are $150/per from Discount Tire chain (if you have one in your state). 2. With full tread (8/32nds) they are great in the rain. They are also *wisper* quiet. Unlike A032R's you do not need ear plugs when driving the car. 3. Some say they are better than old Kumhos. Some say they are worse. But they definitely last a LOT longer. I have ~8K miles including two DEs and 5 autoXs and the tires still have some tread left on them (1-2/32nds). The rest of the miles came from driving around DFW area all of last and most of this summer and driving to and from tracks/autoX lots. I had also put a few miles on the Toyo shod M3 in the winter, but would recommend doing that even in the deep South. The R tires seam to stiffen up and loose a lot of grip below that of POS all season tires on my daily driver E30. > I haven't run the Yokos, but one person who has probably would > recommend the Toyos (Hi Donna! :-)). Add me to that list. I had ran the Yokos and they more expensive but less sticky than the Toyos. I can't properly comment on the wear since I bought them used with the wheels. But in my experience, I could not wear them fast enough to minimize the hearing loss. YMMV, alex f
