Several people have asked where I've ordered the case of Royal Purple Syncromax. Try here: http://www.buyracegas.com/ They sell single quarts for $7, and a case of 12 for $70. Shipping and handling for the case was $18 to Pennsylvania, yielding a price of $7.33 per quart shipped. Hope this helps! - Chris

Contents only has two products: methanol and water. But I have no idea how to find out how much is concentration. Maybe I'll try and dig up some msds sheets on the net or something...I dont suppose anybody knows of a device which you can dip into the mixture, and which reports the relative content of alcohol to water....Ive read on the net statements which say that these fluids generally contain anywhere from 25% to 50% methanol, so I guess thats my range, but it sure would be nice to be able to pinpoint it a little better! This should save list members some money. I'll pass the BMWCCA web page URL (http://www.bmwcca.org) along. In the meantime, if anyone has photos of their cars with a Royal Purple decal, feel free to pass those along to Jess at the email address above. Thanks! - Chris

Water is 1, methanol is less than 1. The exact SG for the mixture will be somewhere in between letting you calculate the ratio of water to methanol. Probably pick one up at a chemical or scientific supply store or a HS science lab. #6. wires under rear seat - from Seth Frader-Thompson

Date: Sat, 3 Aug 2002 14:09:43 -0600 (MDT) From: Seth Frader-Thompson <fraderth@colorado.edu> Subject: wires under rear seat Can anyone tell me where to find power, switched power, and ground wires under the rear seat cushion? I see several convenient bundles of multicolored wires; by the driver's side seatbelt anchor, down the middle, and coming out of the airbag sensor. I don't plan on touching anything airbag-related, but surely everything I need is in one or both of the other two bundles? (I need a Bentley, I know...) Thanks, Seth

I believe constant on power is red/white Ground is brown Switched 12V is (I think...so check me on this) white/violet It's been a long time since I futzed with the wiring. The absolute cleanest way to get power out of your car (without using cheesy 3M connectors) is to buy the BMW terminal connectors and plug them into the junction boxes in front of the driver's side knee bolster. So if it really freezes at -20F then that's just a tad more methanol, about 18%. http://www.satelliteindustries.com/methanolguide.pdf http://www.methanex.com/environment/responsiblecare/MSDS_E.pdf Have fun, Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thanks for that info....For some reason, though, after checking through over a dozen MSDS sheets for various blue windshield washer fluids sold in those gallon plastic jugs, the following is what I found: Those that cool to -25 F 45-55% Methanol Those that cool to -20 F 30-35% Methanol Those that cool to -10 F 20-25% Methanol For some reason theyre using almost double your recipe....Which would seem to be able to give more cooling than theyre stating...Oh well...While your recipe is no doubt correct, it doesnt seem to be whats in those bottles with their protection labels...Hmmm..wonder why..
