The old crap EBC greens had clips too, don't see a reason why the new compound wouldn't. I use Pagid Reds front (bbk) and stock rears now. I gave up on other pads. The Pagid Reds are good for track use too if it's easy on the brakes. I have a set of Oranges for the track if it's hard on brakes. -Bobby ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorffer, Rich" <RDORFFER@CleIndians.com> Anyone care to chime in as to which E36 M3 pads have the inboard clips and which ones don't? They didn't have clips for the E30 application (where the OE pads do have clips). I made the assumption that the E36 M3 application was probably the same. The BMW part number is different by the last 1-3? digits, but it is same piece of hardware. The euroM3 HFM has threaded mounting holes to connect seamlessly to the euro M3 airbox. Assuming you are going with a CAI intake (Conforti or ECIS), that is not an issue. > I can get the chip to match it. Do yourself a big favor and only order that chip from the suppliers listed on Jim C's page: http://www.bonnevillemotorwerks.com/vendors.html You may find a bunch of other shops, like ERT, selling "early" Conforti chips. Don't bite! Those chips are junk. Even if you take your car to the dyno prove to them that it is running dangerously lean and pinging all the time they will refuse to refund your money. Gary

That line about pinging caught my eye. I got a JimC chip for my 95M3 from Turner in early 1999. I sometimes hear what sounds like pinging, but I can't tell for sure. Was that a known problem? Turner IS LISTED as a "Bonne"fied (couldn't help myself) Wholesale distributor. What Gary is referring to are "other companies" selling knock-offs of Jim C's work. You should have the "real deal" if you bought from Turner. No problems in Upstate NY but we have real gas available. Just about everyone sells 93 or better, not that oxygenated big city crap that's lucky to do 91. At O'fest last year the track temp was over 100, read over 110 on my OBC, and never had a ping. You didn't say year or area but if in a big city oxygenated area it may be the low octane.
