Let's hear some more about >this, because I'll be right upset if I drop $600 on tires, to find they rub >my fenders... > Well, I sure like the S03s. I haven't run the Pilot Sports, but I have run MXX3s, Dunlop 8080Es (stock), BFG g-Force KDs, S02s and now S03s, and the S03s are the only tires I've continued to buy. The MXX3s and KDs had better/crisper turn-in, but the S03s are my choice for overall winner of the tires I've tried (track tires not included). ;) Plenty of lateral grip and outstanding in the rain. I've also run them on track before and found them to be pretty impressive for a street tire. I have no hesitation on recommending these based on my experience. Of course, I never did try the Pilot Sports, but these are substantially less expensive now too (at about $170-ish each). I actually have a set in the warehouse at work here waiting to be installed, but I plan on trying to cord the current tires, as I've never done that before. ;) They're getting close to being S03 Slicks now though. Fit on a stock car should be absolutely no issue whatsoever. I ran a set with my stock suspension and wheels and had no problems. When I installed the H&R Sports and Koni s/a I ended up getting a slight rub with on the right rear with passengers, so I got them rolled. No problems now, and I even run them on 8.5" wheels in the front as well. I recently installed a new suspension consisting of Bilstein dampers and Eibach sport springs. I have no rubbing issues. They didn't rub when the suspension was stock, and they don't rub now that it's lowered. For street applications I'd say I like the Bridgestone's much better than the original MXX3's mainly because of their (perceived) superior wet weather performance. I had two sets of SO2's and liked them too (except when they got old and noisy). Scott 96 M3/2

The dealer's code reader spits out the leaking fuel cap fault when the peake says f6. They tried a new fuel cap but that didn't fix it. Next is some vent lines that run from the filler to the tank. Haven't taken it in yet so don't know if that will fix it. Dave > > Hi All, > > Well, I got the old check engine light on. I have been running them since the first time I have changed my tires. Now, I am a spirited driver on the street, and take the car on the track with the RE730's. Aside from the Howl on the track, they are excellent tires. I can keep up with the guys with the stickies in the A groups of the BMW-CCA events. The grip is fantastic in the dry/rain and they tires are far cheaper than the SO3's. If you NEVER track the car, and get 40k out of your current tires...you are not pushing the car in the least... So save your money, go with the cheaper tires that are still High performance and will last longer. Again, my oppinion... The tires and rims are stock sizes, and the car currently has Eibach springs on it. We wound up rolling the rear fenders a little (Thanks Wayne!) because there was so little clearance between the fender lip and the sidewall of the tire.. Up to this point, I have not experienced any rubbing... IMHO, the tires are excellent. Mo
