I have a AA exhuast and a JC chip and was only able to muster out 213.. Haven't dynoed yet with the JC intake though... maybe its time to take a trip back.. =-) George Date: Sat, 7 Sep 2002 19:44:14 -0700 (PDT) From: Matt Henson <hensonator@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Disappointing Dyno Run --- ajoseph1981@earthlink.net wrote: > > Gruppe: > > I had my bone stock '95 dyno'd today...first time I > have done this and did > it to get a 'baseline' to compare anything I may do > in the future. > > Well, I did two pulls and came up with a > disappointing 198.3 peak hp at > about 6K rpm. My original bone stock M3 put out 196 hp at the wheels, but it eventually made 224 with a Euro airbox, Euro snorkel, Euro HFM, Dinan big bore throttle body, 5bar fuel pressure regulator, Dinan software and Supersprint cat-back exhaust. This was done on a Dynojet 248C. Don't worry. You're starting at a very reasonable level. Good luck! -Alan, a bit beyond 224 now...

Which dynometer did you use? My '95 w/ Euro HFM and intake, JimC chip, and SS exhaust surprisingly yielded 228.0hp and 217.1 lbs tq. on a dynojet. Wish I had baseline done before. -Justin Paek '95 M3 pouting for some Shrick cams. -----Original Message----- From: ajoseph1981@earthlink.net [mailto:ajoseph1981@earthlink.net] Sent: Saturday, September 07, 2002 6:13 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Disappointing Dyno Run Date: Sat, 7 Sep 2002 20:07:43 -0500 From: <ajoseph1981@earthlink.net> Subject: Disappointing Dyno Run Gruppe: I had my bone stock '95 dyno'd today...first time I have done this and did it to get a 'baseline' to compare anything I may do in the future. Well, I did two pulls and came up with a disappointing 198.3 peak hp at about 6K rpm. From what I've been able to find, a stock '95 should come up to 210-215, seen as high as 218 mentioned. Peak torque was 194.5 at 4300 rpm. The Air/fuel ratio stayed between 14.5 and 13.5 (got richer toward redline). The engine has had some VANOS problems and I've been through about 3 of those...grrrrr! Any suggestions of direction to go here? The car has been reasonably well maintained. Had full synthetic most of it's life, changed very regularly. Runs cool according to funky BMW temp gauge. Had the water pump issue addressed before the old one failed. Run proper plugs. Hasn't been tracked (yet) or abused. Thanks for any advice offered! Andrew Joseph

I dyno'd my bone stock 95 and was going to be happy if I broke 200. As it turned out, I dyno'd back to back with another bone stock 95. My car had 52k miles, his had 58k. Even same stock wheels. Only difference was his was lowered and mine was not :) As it turned out, we got almost identical results. Even the curves and every little bump were the same. Our two middle runs were closer to each other than any of my runs were to each other, or him his. IIRC, I pulled a 207.2 and he pulled a 207.1.. something like that. I was very pleased with this. I don't think you should expect a stock 95 to do ANY better than this. Atmospheric differences could easily explain 5-10hp less. I ran on a Dynojet. Were you on a Mustang perhaps? I think I've heard Mustangs tend to read lower than a Dynojet. - reid > Gruppe: > > I had my bone stock '95 dyno'd today...first time I have done this and > did > it to get a 'baseline' to compare anything I may do in the future. > > Well, I did two pulls and came up with a disappointing 198.3 peak hp at > about 6K rpm. #9. fog appearance under magnetic numbers-help - from Mdriver13@aol.com

Date: Sun, 8 Sep 2002 21:48:51 EDT From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: fog appearance under magnetic numbers-help Gruppe, A couple of autox's ago it rained early and then the sun came out and it was extremely hot for the rest of the event. Afterward, I took my magnetic numbers off the doors and there to my surprise was a "shadow" of the numbers in the finish :-( I tried to use 3M swirl remover...and it's still there. Over a month later and it's still there! Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there a way to get rid of the "fog"???? TIA, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe... with foggy doors Philly Region SCCA AS Champion 1997 & 2000 BSP Champion 2001
