Yep... pretty amazing development cycle -- street car to National Championship winner in just over a month. I developed the suspension and exhaust, and Gary did the powertrain work. I'm pretty sure Jeff's shop (Reitmeir's Werkstatt) did all the installation work with the exception of the Dinan SC. Shocks are triple-adjustable Motons valved to my specs, springs are H&R, sway bars are Racing Dynamics, and TC Kline Racing camber/caster plates round out the package. Exhaust is a custom header-back 3" system I had fabricated using a FlowMaster muffler. The car rocks, but Jeff also did a *great* job of driving, especially considering he's been out of the sport for several years. He didn't look rusty at all. > <http://www.tunnellracing.com/M3toBSP.html> I will be updating the M3toBSP writeup on my website in the next couple weeks as I've upgraded a few items this year that I have yet to detail. Also, exact details like spring rates and alignment specs that Jeff and Gary used is proprietary information, but I will put my current BSP setup on the site. --Bob

I did this because I didn't want to lower the car, or really stiffen the ride over stock. Also, to compete in the stock SCCA auto-x class I had to retain the stock springs. I wanted to be able to adjust the shocks a little to play with the handling, and I also wanted a decent ride. The bilsteins were non-adjustable and I was also told would raise the ride height of the car with the stock springs. Installing the Koni's does require a few additional steps, but I think they're worth it... -josh ===== Josh Wyte Momentum Motorsports 508-833-3024 After 5 pm EST __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? #7. TONS of M3 Aftermarket Goodies for SALE!!! - from Paul Elliott

Date: Tue, 17 Sep 2002 17:46:15 -0400 From: "Paul Elliott" <elliott.paul@worldnet.att.net> Subject: TONS of M3 Aftermarket Goodies for SALE!!! Ahmad, >>So, my 97 will be stripped and turned back to stock for sale. Here is what needs to go!!!<< These parts add up to just over $1000. This is such a relatively little amount that I would think you could recoup most of it in your sale price, especially if you consider the time and effort thats going to be required to remove and replace it all! I would think there's easily 5-7 hrs of labor just to R&R these parts. At the going dealer rate around here of about 90 bucks, About half your sale price will be taken by labor charges. I dont know. If it were me, Id probably be more than willing to say to Mr car buyer, Look, I'll be glad to split the cost of these parts with you in the sale price. Hed be nuts to pass them up, for where else is he going to get these for this price! Except for the fact that aftermarket goodies (in my experience) will generally scare away many potential buyers. I know I wouldn't be very interested in an M3 with "go-fast" parts unless I knew the owner, or was looking for an "extra" M3 to turn into a track-only car. I wouldn't be able to help myself from thinking "aftermarket stuff equals abused car." Plus, it's extremely rare than you can add even a portion of your aftermarket goodies' value to the price of a car, unless that just happens to be *exactly* what the potential buyer is looking for. Just my opinion, so no flames necessary. ;) Jonathan L. >From: "Paul Elliott" <elliott.paul@worldnet.att.net> > >These parts add up to just over $1000.
