I'd never heard of them, but surfed on over to check it out: http://home1.gte.net/azz3man/ Looks like a decent product, but I already own a UUC Strut Barbarian which I'm perfectly happy with. However one thing caught my eye, and that was the strut tower caps shown on: http://home1.gte.net/azz3man/accinst.htm since of course our original M3 caps, which fit over the 3 mounting nuts, don't work once you've installed a brace. So I emailed Strong Strut, and the owner Paul Ebeyer told me that these are, of all things, stock Z8 parts. I looked up the P/N, which is: 31 33 1 096 046 and ordered a pair at my local dealer for under $10. They arrived yesterday and I popped them in. So as I said, it's a small thing, but it does finish off the strut towers nicely, and prevents dirt from dropping into the bearing area. The caps fit inside the raised mounting lip of the bearing hats, and should work with pretty much any open-plate brace: UUC, BMW-Motorsport, Dinan, etc. (All of which begs the question of just why BMW would tool up a special plastic part just for the Z8, but there you have it.) Thomas, Thanks for the lead, but there is not such thing as a good used coil. Just like there are no good used condoms. You can't rule out a bad coil until it is installed in your car and either causes weird drivability problems and/or fries your $400-$1.2K DME. Kirk, Thanks for the offer. I ended up ordering new Bosch coils from a local supplier. Out of curiosity, was that $45 offer on Bosch or Bremi/Beru coils? If it's the former, everyone should keep Kirk in mind as one of the most competitively priced suppliers of Bosch coils. The short store: my drivability and hot stalling problems were traced to flaky 69K mile OE Bremi coils. The long story will be published as soon as the replacement coils go in. alex f At 09:11 AM 9/16/2002 -0400, Eurowerks wrote: >Alex, > >I don't know about $40.00, but I will sell them to you for $45.00 each plus freight... >Let me know.... > >>So far I've got the best price quote of $50.25 from Hendrick BMW. I've opened it up, cleaned it, lubed the rails, but no luck. Do any of the SF bay area listers have experience with a local electronics repair shop? I've found a few online, but was hoping for something local. Thanks, Murray

(was Sound System troubles) So I swapped back the stock non-HK amp and the system works fine. I swapped back the HK amp and no sound again. I'm not sure what to do now. The HK amp has no fuses. Is there any way to trouble shoot this thing? Or is there something about the HK system I'm overlooking? Just had one repaired at Short Cicuit 1630 Old Oakland Road San Jose, 408 441-6170, intersection of Brokaw. They turned it around in 3 days. Their labor seemed a bit steep, $185, base rate, but I talked 'em down abit. Mine came to $158. BUT, the dealer quoted me a $200 base rate, plus 4+ weeks turn around to ship it to Alpine in LA. Ask for Raymond mebbe he'll work with you on da price as well. #9. Passenger Side Brake Duct ? - from Robert Manger

I am trying to locate a part number for said item. Can anyone with the parts cd do me a favor and take a look. as an aside the dealer believes that this sensor only exists on one side of the car (drivers) which then makes me wonder what else should go into this hole on the passenger side brake duct. I definitely have a wire lead with a broken part. that is for sure. any help is much appreciated. Thanks. Rob

#10. Differences between '95 vs. '99 M3? - from eevans@planetc.com
Top
Date: Sat, 21 Sep 2002 01:27:48 -0400 From: eevans@planetc.com Subject: Differences between '95 vs. '99 M3? Hi, I've tried to find out what exactly the differences are from a '95 M3 5sp. (current ride) vs. a '99 M3 5sp. (future ride). I'm aware of the staggered wheels, the 3.2L engine, etc., what I'm looking for are the more subtle changes. Things like sound system upgrade, seats, equipment options etc. Do you have to run the staggered wheel setup on the '99 models and what's the benefit/reason for that? Also is the JC injector unit worth the $s. I know his chip and intake system work great for my '95. Will the Euro intake, ITG filter and heat shield from the '95 work on a '99? Will my clear lights fit the '99? I thought I read where the '99 had just a little more back seat room than the earlier models, anyone confirm that? What's that pipe under the hood running to the front of the car on the passenger side on '99 models, is it a filtration system addition? I understand that my '95 CD changer won't work on the '99, correct? What about my keyless entry unit in the '95 will it work on the '99? If anyone has made the transition from a '95 to a later model or more specifically a '99 please email me privately. I'd really appreciate it. Any information is more than I have now ;-). TIA Evan
