My car has been fine on a warm, sunny day with UUC exhaust, and dinan intake. (I had to lift in the foggy morning, after 1 meatball) My car got a meatball with the blower and aa gen 3 in the morning, but later when it was warmer, no problem. -kit -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

I have no idea if this really works but I was told that WD40 will remove the stains (assuming its rust like)left on wheels from Hawk HPS pads. I know these are different pads but I would suspect that the stains come from similar sources. I have also used clay (sold by Meguiars, Zymol, etc.) to remove rust stains from my rear bumper that ultimately came from the brakes. Either way I suspect it still takes a lot of work. BTW, the WD40 tip came from a seller of Hawk pads. But it rained and I have never seen such a mess! The brake dust turned into a concrete slurry that is baked onto my wheels and it has made a complete mess out of the side of my car too. Yellow/brown rust-like stains everywhere! I know... I was warned. But does anyone have any recommendation for a magic cleaner or methods for getting this stuff off besides a hammer and chisel? No need for camber plates with those numbers. If you want to equalize camber between sides, you can add negative camber by using shims between the lower strut monunting points and the steering arm. If you want to add positive camber, you'll have to use some sort of camber plates. Jay

#6. OK who's right - you guys or my dealer - from The Buch

Date: Mon, 23 Sep 2002 20:28:54 -0700 From: The Buch <the_buch@telus.net> Subject: OK who's right - you guys or my dealer Due to the considerable traffic on the topic of worn rear trailing arm bushings, I ask the dealer every time I am in to have a look and report on the condition of this part. Invariably the verdict is - no problemo. Now that I am at 100,000km (62,000 mi) of mostly highway driving, if I get them to replace rta bushings, how likely is it that I (you) will be proven right :-) ? Thanks, Doug PS >> I am driving around with the GC shims in my trunk, and they are getting a bit lonely with nothing to look after :-(

I've noted = discernibly better throttle response, smoother idle, and a slightly more = mellow (and even-sounding) exhaust note. They weren't cheap (close to $8.00 each, plus shipping from = sparkplugs.com), but it was worth it. Don't remember having this much = punch after earlier tuneups. I recommend them highly. Andy B. #8. Laguna seca and noise levels - from Msebmwman@aol.com
Top
Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 01:55:39 EDT From: Msebmwman@aol.com Subject: Laguna seca and noise levels I drove Laguna Seca in November 2001. My setup is on a LTW (think no hood liner, hence, less sound deadening under the hood): Euro HFM JC cold air intake for Euro HFM Supersprint exhaust with non-DTM tips. Yokohama A032R tires at the time (these tires can be loud). I received no meatballs at all. I did not pussy foot driving up the hill past the sound booth. A few others that to me had milder systems ended up getting a meatball and others that I thought had louder exhausts didn't get one. But then again the individual in the sound booth needs to take some breaks. When I was there we didn't have any fog to worry about so there wasn't any reflection of the sound back to the ground from the fog. I brought along the stock air intake for a Euro HFM just in case I got a meatball. I was assuming that putting a stock intake back on the car would take away some of the intake noise and lower the dB. Fortunately I didn't need to test that theory. I have heard about some folks that changed their exhaust back or redirected their exhaust tips away from the sound booth by diverting the tips to the side with some extensions. Also, you're going to love this, I bought a sound pressure level meter from Radio Shack a couple of weeks before the event and did a few experiments with a friend who had come into town. Did various drive bys on the asphalt street near my home with various throttle positions as well as different gears and speeds and distances away from the meter just to see if I could get the dB high enough. Only got to 90-91 dB during this experiment so I figured that I was going to be okay. The neighbors never caught me but wondered who was racing on the street behind the house again, why there weren't any of the "angry bees in a can" sounds and why the car didn't look like an Acura or Honda, and had a manual transmission...... I have received several inquiries regarding the 1995 M3 engine and transmission that I have for sale, but all would require shipping. Can anyone here provide advice with crating an engine and transmission for shipping? First question is, where can I get the crate? or should I make one with a pallet and plywood? Second, what shipping carrier have people used? approximate cost? Third, does anyone happen to know the weight of a fully dressed 3.0 liter engine? transmission? Thanks. Geof
