We always replace the rubber with spherical part when we have the arm off. BMW parts you can get from the dealer or us - $49 each. Cheapest spherical I have seen, and from BMW no less! #4. I don't like gold... - from twisty M3

Date: Fri, 27 Sep 2002 13:23:55 -0700 From: "twisty M3" <twistym3@hotmail.com> Subject: I don't like gold... Happy Friday to all! So, I'm generally not too worried about looks vs. function, but gold really is one of my least favorite colors, so I can't help but to ask for help. ;) I have the UUC System U exhaust, and the whole thing started off as the usual stainless steel look... very nice. It's since taken on a bit of a goldish color, which just looks silly on my silver car. I realize this is what happens with stainless steel headers, etc., so I'm sure it's just due to the heat it produces. Is there any way to polish this thing (at least the tips anyway) back to the original stainless steel silver rather than gold? Thanks, Jonathan L. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

This car is the grocery getter (until the engine swap?), so ease of use is key. But thanks for the suggestion. Stock: 51 47 8 122 391 - Left plastic trim panel 51 47 8 122 392 - Right plastic trim panel Taller one: 51 47 8 119 231 - Left plastic trim panel for wide tire 51 47 8 119 232 - Right plastic trim panel for wide tire<< Ever since I got my 4 fikse 8.5" rims, and 245 tires, I realized I was going to have to use one of them for the spare during the winter, when the current spare would have to become one of my useage wheels. I had heard that the wider wheel/tire might not be a smooth fit, but Id heard from others that they had no problem. I just dont want the cover to the spare compartment to be tipsy and sloppy. If new parts are needed, then I'll have to get them. Do you think all the parts mentioned in this thread on this subject are required to have the trunk buttoned up properly, or can we make do with what weve got, and the half inch wider wheel. Thanks. #9. enjoying life again !! - from Hunt Hodgetts

Date: Fri, 27 Sep 2002 18:25:59 -0700 (PDT) From: Hunt Hodgetts <hhodgetts@yahoo.com> Subject: enjoying life again !! I sold my 98 M3 in May 2000. Driving just hasn't been any fun since then. Yesterday, I solved that problem by purchasing a 99 M3 at Atlanta's wholesale auction. I was hoping someone could fill me in on what I missed while I was gone. (Email me privately if necessary) In particular, is the JC shark injector / intake combo still the most cost effective way to increase my 0-60 times? (besides practice) Besides forced induction, are there any new ways to increase horsepower? Also, where can I find instructions on how to search the messageboard archives? __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? #10. seat covers - from Hunt Hodgetts

Date: Fri, 27 Sep 2002 18:37:39 -0700 (PDT) From: Hunt Hodgetts <hhodgetts@yahoo.com> Subject: seat covers I have two toddlers and their car seats are going in the back seat of my 99 M3. Does anyone know where I can find a seat cover for the back seat? Preferably one that matches the tan leather. Also, I am looking for a cover for the front drivers seat to prevent wear of the leather. Will sheepskin protect the leather from wear? Are there other materials I should consider?
