Awesome, is all I can say. The car was in the hands of a very good driver from the NNJ SCCA region. He was close to FTD on street tires no less and the car was not the track prepared version! This car could be quicker than the Honda S2000's or the Boxster. Just too tough a class for the e36M3's anymore :-(" Is this really the sad truth? I know there is much more to winning an auto-x than the car (driver!), but are E36 M3's really out-classes by the new comers? I know S2000's are amazing, but at ~3300lbs I can't really see how the 350Z is going to be an E36 M3 slayer? I am about to enter the world of auto-x after many years of track driving and hate to think that my 'ol e36 is a second rate machine! Rob

I have driven both on the same track, and the S2000 has amazing handling, and loads of power as long as you keep it from 5K to 9K rpm. The only real downside is it is more difficult to drive at the limit than the M3. But in the hands of a good driver, the S2000 is quick. #4. Staggered tire set-up for the track - from Hans Angping

I have search the digest and everybody seems to be running one size all around. My concern is handling. Does the car handle any better or worse having the same size tires all around? I ran a staggered set-up with a set of A032R's but the diameters of the tires were so different the car was so imbalanced. Right now the best tires I had were the original MXX3's. TIA. Hans

If you are talking 7.5/8.5 vs. all 7.5's, that's a tough call. But I would go with the staggered setup in that case. But all 8.5", or all 9" is better. Really much better if you have a little camber in front.
