IIRC it screws into the passenger side of the transmission housing and is 2 minute job to replace (including jacking up the car on one side). > Brake Lights: Outside (towards the outside of the car) > bulb NOT working. Inside bulb and third brake light ok. Could be the bulb. Could be the housing. Shine a flash light into the housing and see if there are any burn marks on the contacts. > Parking Lights: Ok > Turn Signals: Ok > > I switched the bulbs (i.e. one that was working with one that was > not working) and it didn't help, other than proving that it wasn't > the bulb. Did you remove the bulbs from the plug or just swapped the plugs? I would take a closer look at the contacts inside the plug and between the plug and the housing. As always, check the bulbs themselves for continuity. > I also checked various fuses in the engine compartment and > everything looked fine. It's highly unlikely that both bulbs blew at the same time. Again could be the rear bulb cluster connectors, or a flaky new reverse light switch. alex f

#7. Easter Eggs? - from Paul Elliott

Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 18:56:06 -0400 From: "Paul Elliott" <elliott.paul@worldnet.att.net> Subject: Easter Eggs? I had never heard this term used before. Judging from the context of its use, I gather the term refers to added, hidden or little known, usually electronic 'baubles' or little addons, that are unknown to most of the world, but, for those in the know, can be a delight. I read about one such thing , which might qualify as an Easter Egg, although, for the life of me, I cant remember how to trigger it! Maybe one of you guys will remember. Anyway, in an OBDII M3, there was a way to make the ASC light default to ON, so that it will normally assume the OFF position. Not only do I not remember how to trigger it, but I cant even remember if it defaulted to Off in a way that actually survived engine turn off, or, instead, was only active UNTIL you turned the engine off, where it would revert back to its stock behavior. Anybody heard of this one, and can fill in the details?
