I dont know if its because I have installed 245s on 8.5s all around or not, but my asc doesnt even engage now until I get a good amount of wheel spin. For instance, shifting to second, I can get a good amount of wheel chirp without the asc being triggered. Even from a dead stop, unless Im spinning for over a second, it seems, the asc will not engage. Its almost like its got an intentional power start mode. How do other guys asc work? ie, do you guys find that its an instant on as soon as you perceive the slightest wheel slip, or, does it feel, like mine, that there's like a 'power mode' built into it? And, I wonder how much the 4 x 245s have to do with it, if anything. thanks. Date: Tue, 1 Oct 2002 11:28:07 -0400 From: "Vern Anderson" <vernon_anderson@yahoo.com> Subject: Beaver Run Oktoberfest Autocross Saturday 10/5 Hello everyone, I apologize for cross-posting this message, I'm sure many of you will receive it multiple times. BeaveRun Motorsports Complex is holding its inaugural Oktoberfest on October 5-6. The event will include many activities including a PCA track school on the North Track, a karting enduro, car shows, German food, auto vendors AND - an AUTOCROSS on Saturday 10/5! I will be designing the course and chairing the autocross event. Several other local autocrossers have also volunteered to help. The details are as follows: There will be two separate events, a morning and an afternoon session. The morning session will run from 10-12 and the afternoon session from 1-3. Registration for the morning session is from 9-10 and registration for the afternoon session is from 12-1. All competitors will be required to work part of their session. Cost is $20 for each session, competitors can register and run both if they desire. The event benefits a local charity, the McGuire House. All makes of cars are welcome, not just German marques. Depending on the turnout, we will adjust the run groups and times accordingly. There will be several experienced autocrossers at the event, so instruction will be available for novices. For more information, please feel free to contact me at vernon_anderson@yahoo.com or at 412-716-3126. For more information about the overall BeaveRun Oktoberfest event and for directions, please contact BeaveRun at 724-535-1000. Thanks! Vern Anderson

My suggestion is check on the fluid level to see if it dried up. If the battery fluid is low just fill it up with distilled water and try recharging it again. The original battery on my '98 M3 failed on me about a year ago. As I was going to purchase a replacement, I took the old battery out and found that the fluid lever was about a third low. So I went to the gocery store and bought a gallon of distilled water and fill it up. Recharged it thru the night and worked like a charm. I am still running my on my original battery and my car starts every time. Joe. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Date: Tue, 1 Oct 2002 11:54:54 -0400 From: "Seth Thomas" <porsche993@mindspring.com> Subject: My LTW is for sale Guys I hate to do it but it is time for me to grow up and accept my adulthood responsibilities. Not really it is time to build an ITS car. My LTW is now for sale. Here are the details on it. This is a 1995 M3 Lightweight. White with black cloth interior. It currently has a 3.0L Euro Gruppe N motor, Gruppe N headers and exhaust, Conforti Euro CAI, all the GT parts installed, Extra set of spacers for rear spoiler, Movit front Porsche Turbo big brakes, Koni Double Adjustable coilovers with 450# f/600# rear springs, RD swaybars, TC Kline Rollbar, Sparco EVO drivers seat, Sparco Torino Passenger seat, Still have the stock interior with the car, 3 sets of wheels (17x8.5"SSR comps with brand new Toyo 255/40/17, SSR GT3 18x8.5 front with 225/40/18 Kuhmo 712 and 18x9.5 rear with 255/35/18, Stock BMW Forged LTW wheels), VDO water temp and oil pressure guages, Mcoupe short shifter, 5 point harnesses for both passenger and driver. This car is a fast car. It has never been club raced and was setup as drivers school/street car. The motor has 10,000 miles on it with the oil changed after every track event. The car is in great shape and I hate to sell. But it is time to move on to another project. My loss your gain. Call me at (770)888-9721 home or (678)549-9879 cell for more info. More pictures available upon request or view www.m3ltw.com. I am not seperating any parts with this car. If you want a part off of it then buy the car. If you guys know anybody who might be looking for a good club racing candidate then this is the perfect car. The only thing it needs is a full cage and the interior taken out of it. Or have the ultimate Driver's School car. Seth Thomas www.m3ltw.com

Mine seems to kick in at even the slightest hint that there will be wheel slippage. For instance, on an off camber freeway entrance if I have too much throttle I will lose some power. I also experienced this on the track, although I have been given endless grief by friends for not disabling this feature. (First time on the track, concerned about pulling a rookie maneuver and breaking my car). So unless I'm mistaking asc for something else, sounds like your is more fun. --- Paul Elliott <elliott.paul@worldnet.att.net> wrote: > Date: Tue, 1 Oct 2002 10:58:58 -0400 > From: "Paul Elliott" <elliott.paul@worldnet.att.net> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] Easter Eggs? > > I dont know if its because I have installed 245s on > 8.5s all around or not, > but my asc doesnt even engage now until I get a good > amount of wheel spin. > For instance, shifting to second, I can get a good > amount of wheel chirp > without the asc being triggered.
