New tint seems to cost about $250. Cheers, Noah. -------------------- 8 -------------------- Date: Tue, 01 Oct 2002 16:31:30 -0700 (PDT) From: marc@plante.com Subject: <Misc>Removing Tint, CD changer, etc Couple miscellaneous questions about a 1997 M3/4 I seem to be zeroing in on (for my SO, I'm a 2.5 kind of guy for now)... 1) Does anyone have a general sense of what it's going to cost to remove tint from a car? I figure $250. I'd rather not mess with the defroster in a DIY job. 2) Is there a quick way to understand what manufacturer's radio is in the car. I have a spare Alpine changer, and am wondering if it's going to be compatible. Thanks, Marc Plante E36 325i, 207k Vienna, VA

I recently (about 1 month ago) had a new garage floor poured and was looking for recommendations for garage floor paint. Any positive or negative experiences out there? You can respond privately. M3 content: The "Saturday at Wayne's" club will likely use the garage and the new lift to install lots of goodies on M3's. -Wayne

I agree and would really like to see a sequential shifter with a clutch but hey, I'm just a customer. My guess is that $ will make the decision. If as I've heard it costs on the order of $1M to EPA certify a car/engine/transmission combination, going to a single one size fits none engine/trans would save a fair amount of money. Assuming the $1M is close, figure the cost per car. How many M3s are sold a year? My guess is that adding a second engine/trans combination costs on the order of $200/car. #10. ABS Fuse - from Neil Maller
Top
Date: Wed, 02 Oct 2002 10:34:23 -0500 From: Neil Maller <neil.maller@gte.net> Subject: ABS Fuse Which fuse do you guys pull to disable the ABS for track use? Bentley shows 3 that seem to be relevant: - F38 that supplies + voltage to the ABS pump unit - F21 that supplies + voltage to the ABS relay coil - F10 that supplies + voltage to the ABS relay contacts. Or do you pull the relay - not that I have a clue where it is. I'm hoping/assuming that whatever the answer is, a fault code that requires dealer intervention won't be set...? Neil 96 M3
