#1. FS: 17x9" BBS RC wheels - from Rob

Date: Wed, 23 Oct 2002 21:08:53 -0600 From: "Rob" <speedmaster@telus.net> Subject: FS: 17x9" BBS RC wheels Four BBS RC Motorsport Edition 17x9" wheels for all E36's. These wheels are a very aggressive Germany-style fitment with 32mm offset. The wheels come right to the edge of the fenders and look amazing, as well as increasing the track width. They fit the front with no issues and work fine on the rear with 235/40/17's if you have some camber and/or rolled lips. You *might * be able to get 245's to fit but I haven't tried and I like the way the 235's sit. They also clear most coil-over kit in the front without an added spacer. All four wheels are in perfect condition with zero curb rash, etc. These wheels are not available from normal sources (such at T.Rack) and are therefore very rare. E-mail me directly for pics. $1300

It'll allow you to get the adjuster tool in there. Or, make an adjuster that's not as big around as the plastic one. You can use a fat screw driver. Cut the end off and then use a hack saw to cut a groove in it. If you want to be real slick, you can epoxy a piece of steel tubing over it to keep it from slipping off. Enjoy - Jay

They are just regular bolts, threaded all the way to the head. Stock ones have a larger shoulder, snug fit to take the shear load. These are smaller (no shoulder), and theaded all the way. That creates a lot of "slop", which does let you get more camber, but is totally depended on friction to hold the strut in place. If it slips a little, your camber and toe change. The shims with longer bolts allow a positive adjustment, plus let you choose the exact camber without guessing. I am very suprised BMW put these bolts in the parts book. They should have created a bolt with an ecentric shoulder, like in the rear to minimize the chance of it slipping, or just have given us adjustable strut hats. ;-) Chris > What about trying the camber correction bolts? The later model years offset the top of the strut so it is kind of tucked underneath the mounting plate. The 95M3 has the top of the strut pretty much centered in the mounting hole.
