Date: Mon, 28 Oct 2002 08:26:23 -0600 From: <ajoseph1981@earthlink.net> Subject: Best Four Point Bar Gruppe: I, for the life of me, can not remember the manufacturer of the preferred four point bar for the E36 coupes. It's the one that has been in and out of production many times over the years, and fits very nicely against our roof lines. Friend of mine has a 325iS that he is wanting to fit one in to for safer track day hi-jinks. In other news: I had to withdraw from the 'Frost On The Pumpkin' track event here in St. Louis for next weekend due to the dreaded radiator failure...have a side tank leaking now...grrrrrrrr! If anyone wants to inquire, the local club may not have filled the empty slot. www.stlbmwclub.com Thanks, Andrew Joseph ajoseph1981@earthlink.net

Did mine in about 30 mintues, including draining the coolant, etc. If you haven't had the water pump or thermostat replaced yet, (dont know how many miles, year of your car), its a good time to do it, since the coolant will be drained already. I think the Bently manual has a good writeup about how to do this. #6. E36 M3 Master Cylinder....where to buy? - from Patrick Buthmann
Top
Date: Mon, 28 Oct 2002 11:37:08 -0500 From: "Patrick Buthmann" <patrick@teutonic.ca> Subject: E36 M3 Master Cylinder....where to buy? Guys, I need to replace my M3 master cylinder, and just got a quote from the dealer for $1115 for JUST the master cylinder (no labour involved). (CDN $$$). Any alternate locations where I can purchase this from, as spending $1100+ on just the master is a little annoying.... Preferably someone who can ship to Canada. I am purchasing a stolen M3 that does not come with keys. I understand that in addition to the keys that I will need to have some kind of reprogramming work done to the ECM to allow the new keys to work with EWS. Is that true? How much am I looking at for all of this? Thanks, Geof

Well, for each new car, there are 10 (I think) keys made for the car. You get three of them upon delivery. The remainder stay in a vault. If you use up all the keys, you'll have to replace all locks on the car. I'd imagine that you'll be wanting a different set of keys for your car so you'll be replacing all locks. I went to the dealer with proof of ownership and they ordered the key from Germany. There was no programming done unless it came from the factory that way.
