I had a student in a Mustang do this once. He told me that the brake felt spongy so we took it in. Opened the hood (to let the Supercharger cool off which is something he did after each session) and noticed that the fluid was boiling over and dripping on to the ground. Of course he had no idea how to bleed the fluid, so I ended up teaching a little more than driving that weekend :-) Normally if a student gets a soft pedal I just recommend a quick bleed, but in this case I would think that a very thorough bleed is in order to make sure you get all the air out of the system. I bought a set when I first started building cars because they had to be the best, right? Tire guys told me not to use them because they could leak and I quit. We had a customer's car at the Summit race earlier this year and he had a new set of slicks mounted and used metal valve stems, which I didn't catch. 5 laps into the race, he comes in to replace his flat tire - air leaking around the valvestem. Rubber really is the way to go here. Hi people, Today my OBC told me that I had a failed brake light, and when I went to change it I found that the contact in the tail light socket assembly had disintegrated. I'm just assuming that the sockets are not replacable seperately, so if anybody has a stock set of tail lights cluttering up their garage, just let me know. Thanks, -jeff '95 M3

Date: Tue, 5 Nov 2002 00:41:24 -0600 From: "M-Power" <M-Power@austin.rr.com> Subject: Sparks from my Track Brakes! Tonight I installed new rotors and my Ferodo DS3000 brake pads for this weekend @ TWS. I just went out to bed the brakes and scared myself! After several hard stoppings, my front brakes started to spark! I didn't hear anything wrong so I drove to cool by brakes and came home. The amount of brake dust on my wheels and the side of my car was a lot more them I remember from my last track event. My rotors look ok, so I guess it must just be from bedding new rotors with used pads? Jim Hagerman ///M_Power M-Power@austin.rr.com

My SO's 1997 M3/4 has lousy AM reception (compared to the 95 M3 that sits in the driveway next to it). I know that other radios are somewhat adjustable. Anyone else dealt with this problem? If so, you might have gotten your DME wet. I know it doesn't look like water could get into that compartment, but it happened to me. It only takes a few minutes to pull the DME, so it's worth a shot. When I pulled mine, I could see the corrosion starting to form. I carefully cleaned it with a tooth brush, but my motor still misses a little bit at idle. I guess I'll have to take it to the local BMW dealer to have it checked out. Chris Ward 95 M3 (Dakkar Yellow) 4/94 build date
