#1. ABS/ASC warning lights - from Sean Ganess

Date: Sat, 9 Nov 2002 14:42:04 -0500 From: "Sean Ganess" <Sean.Ganess@lostcluster.net> Subject: ABS/ASC warning lights For the past few weeks, the ABS and ASC warning lights have been coming on intermittently on my 97 M3. Restarting the car makes the lights go away. Sometimes it will come back on and sometimes not. Also, it seems to happen more when it's wet out. Obiviously, a loose connection somewhere. Any advice on where to check? =20 Oh, the traction control and ABS brakes are functioning properly.

Date: Sat, 09 Nov 2002 18:34:50 -0500 From: Jeff Thompson <jthompson@telco.com> Subject: Re: HELP and Virus ALERT (I think) People, No anti-virus software was geared to catch this since the tricky thing here is that it is not _technically_ a virus. You did have to click and download to activate it (which means that you agreed to a license agreement somewhere most likely). I've seen this thing (program, worm, virus, ??) a couple times, and it _seems_ to be no more insidious than Gator type advertising which is bundled into a lot of shareware/freeware these days. Chris Teauge's' link of: http://hq.mcafeeasap.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99760 explains exactly what you're dealing with. All I can say (after having more than 20 network users panic after downloading) is that we have finally come to the time where we really have to read the EULAs and install instructions just as carefully as our new mortgage agreement or something along those lines. No offense intended, but this particular app preys on people who don't pay attention to what they are doing. It relys on the tendency of people to just click "Next, Next, Finish" to accomplish their task at hand. In terms of something scary, it isn't really much worse than the Win2K SP3 agreement, but that is a different story. Be careful out there, -Jeff

#3. FS: Supersprint exhaust (Euro) - from Rob

Date: Sat, 9 Nov 2002 17:50:18 -0700 From: "Rob" <speedmaster@telus.net> Subject: FS: Supersprint exhaust (Euro) For sale: Supersprint stainless cat-back exhaust for '94> E36 M3's. Dual 76mm round tips (part #78.43.06). Used for 3 month and 3k miles. It is in perfect, as-new condition, but the drivers side of the muffler canister has been modified (dented in) to help clear wide rear wheels and tires. It will fit all 6cyl E36 models, but requires welding at the flange on US. A very simple $40 muffler shop job.The end of the pipes don't step down like they do on the US version! This system is perfect for any SC'd, turbo'd, OBDI 3.2L or other 290+HP modified E36's. $495

They can be found at PartsAmerica.com: <http://www.partsamerica.com> I ordered several sets from them for our BMW cars and our Toyota truck. They arrived in about a week and all the items were new in original Bosch boxes. Thanks for everyone's help in tracking down these Bosch refills. -- Rex Tener rex_tener@yahoo.com

IIRC, they're only for replacement of sealed beams, and for Ford F-150 and GM C-type pickups. No generic kits. Of course, there are about a bazillion other aftermarket choices. In terms of those from more "reputable" companies, I did see that Catz-Fet <www.fet-usa.com> has kits for standard replacement bulb applications. #7. Lower Front Shroud (Sedan) Replacement - from Sean Burke
Top
Date: Sun, 10 Nov 2002 12:02:43 -0500 From: "Sean Burke" <sburke@ee.net> Subject: Lower Front Shroud (Sedan) Replacement Well, it finally happened to me. Last night in the dark I stuck a piece of tire on the freeway, totally obliterating the lower front shroud. What the tire didn't get, I had to tear off to drive the car home without dragging anything. Luckily the bumper, fog lights, radiator, and fan appear to have been missed. Can someone point me to a source to find all the parts I need to order, as well as a place with decent prices? The Bentley manual doesn't seem to go into detail for the M cars. Thanks, --Sean '98 M3/4--Slightly less aerodynamic in the front right now. -- Sean Burke sburke@ee.net

#9. How to get more camber? - from Ahmad Lutfeali

Date: Sun, 10 Nov 2002 17:33:50 +0000 From: "Ahmad Lutfeali" <m3_racer99@hotmail.com> Subject: How to get more camber? Besides KMAC or any other camber plates (what to keep the car as stock as possible) what are my alternatives? 1) Korman bolt kit (last time I had tire clearance issue when running 245/4017 on a 8 inch wide wheel for the track). 2) Swapping strut hats (I have heard it gives you over -3 deg. camber. Is that true)? 3) Using 95 sturt hats. This gives around -2 degree camber. Any experiences? 4) Any other options? THanks in advance. Sean, If you are talking about the underpanel and not the front splitter, go to http://www.jt-designs.com/ and get their aluminum underpanel for $159. Dave Kelley 98 M3/4 94 325i
