This is a valuable list that is about as focused as you can get. Opening up the advertising will surely end up diluting it. That's coming from me- a "vendor" of sorts that would have an interest in adding. I do think that it has it's positive side though. More group buys could be introduced, specials for "on topic" products will definately be a hit. My suggestion is to allow advertising, but in a very controlled way; have the vendors give you ads to your specs(ie 50 words or less... or 3 products..etc) and you combine the ads together in one email and YOU send it to the list. This will accomplish several things; 1. Vendors wont send messages to the list that are not reviewed by you 2. Vendors will not send ads for all 275 products they carry 3. Not most, but some Vendors will try to take advantage, this puts a buffer in the system 4. Readers get a single message, with a single consistent format, from a trusted source. Just trying to look out for you and help! The general concensus seems to be that the noise is inherent in the driveline under the conditions mentioned, and while I've just recently brought it up, the noise has been there before, so it's nothing new. My remedy has been to focus on grace and smoothness, avoiding the condition all together and tidying up my footwork (not easy with size 15's, but it makes heel-toeing a breeze and more like instep-outstepping :?P) Again, thanks to all! I'm off to take 'Em' for a spin south of KC to look for some Leonids. . . Steve

Brake caliper/clutch slave bleeding aside, is the removal and installation as simple as draining and disconnecting the resevoir, unbolting and replacing the master, then reconnecting and bleeding? When I looked in the engine bay, I almost couldn't believe how accessable it seemed to be. Thanks in advance and happy viewing, Steve

If you allow ads, keep them short, focused and E36 realted. Do it in a way that I can easily choose not to be bothered by them. Get your costs paid +. I would start out higher priced and talk about it after a couple months. If not what they thought, they can leave or you can adjust your pricing. Whatever you do, at the very least, recover your costs. Feel free to call me. I am a VP of marketing for a software company and one of my focuses is running the 'pricing committee.' Glad to assist in any way. Paul Smith pauls@ontario.com 1998 M3/4 with new Kick a$$ stereo!!! Just fixed my brake circuit check engine light issue from the archives. What a great resource!!! KEEEEEEP IT ALIVE!!! Sue wrote: "Dorffer, Rich" wrote: > I would charge a nominal amount so that it helps to support your cost for running the list/website. How much is a "nominal" amount? I really have no clue as to what other lists charge. Seems like most of you (at least so far) are in favor of advertising, providing it is specific for this list, and limited to perhaps one or two posts a month.

Sue, After I sent you the private reply and reading the responses from the list I'll add a recommendation based on how they run the Ferret Mailing List (yes, I'm a sucker for small furry critters). Regular issues do not allow advertizing. Periodically they have an advertizing issue for members/shelters/etc. It is clearly identified in the subject line as the advertizing edition. It is a special edition so it is not bundled into the consolidated version so it is easily ignored. I would not have a problem with a weekly advert. edition as a separate mailing clearly identified. I'm sure the potential advertisers will tell you what they are paying for adversiting on other lists. Now, if you believe them, you can compare the costs per exposure, i.e. number of list members, that they are paying other lists and come up with a fair price for yours. If you will talk to a few advertisers who are paying for other lists, you should be able tp find out who is telling the truth and who is not about their costs. #10. Rough Cold Start Idle on '98 M3 - from Nsxlr8@aol.com
Top
Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 12:03:04 EST From: Nsxlr8@aol.com Subject: Rough Cold Start Idle on '98 M3 I purchased a '98 M3 sedan last May. The car has always had a rough idle on cold starts. It's never stalled and goes away once driven. Is this just a normal condition with the OBDII cars? Are there any common problems that result in this type behavior? The car has the JC Shark software, ITG intake and Supersprint exhaust. Jeff Bjerke
