Are you sure you are not referring to the oil leaks from the $10 valve cover/cam gaskets (very common)? > I just came off of a 1400 mile trip at "high" speeds and the coolant > level seems to have stayed constant. That's good. > However, over the last 5,000 or so miles I have noticed a very mild > coolant smell outside the engine upon shut down. Do you see any signs of leaks? Hoses? Upper radiator neck? Coolant reservoir cap? If not sure, thoroughly clean the engine compartment and watch for the coolant residue. alex f

Piccione" <leepic@smart.net> Subject: What seats fit? I'm trying to fit my '95 M3 with a set of fixed-back race seats that a big guy (I'm 6'4", 275) will fit in. I tried a set of Sparco Evo 3's (way too big for the car), and I doubt the Evo 2 will fit in, and I will not fit in an Evo. Anyone have suggestions for big seat that will work? ---------------------------------------------- Lee, I am also a relatively "big boned" person (6'3", 255#, 50" jacket, 38" waist) and I fit very well in the Recaro Pole Positions in my '95 I-Stock club racer. I even have custom door bars. Mounting was a piece of cake with TC Kline's exclusive mounting brackets (www.tcklineracing.com) and Recaro seat sliders. I found the Pole Positions to be in between the Evo2 and Evo3 seats. Evo3 would have been a little bit more comfortable, but I knew that it wouldn't fit (easily). HTH, Scott

Date: Mon, 09 Dec 2002 17:15:31 -0600 From: Steve Klein <klein@robinsonad.com> Subject: Seat Entreat and Vent Vexation On the subject of seats and sizes, is it possible to swap the leather and foam on just the bottom portion of the vader seats? I'm 6'7" 230, and I can tell that my mass has taken it's toll on the support of the seat, and I'd like to swap them and recondition the driver side. The gent I bought it from is about 5' 6" and no more than 160. I hate to think of what 'Em' thinks of hauling MY arse. Also, how does one remove the central louvres just above the radio? They've developed a squeak that I can stop by pointing them all the way down and right, but I'd like to address that, too. Thanks, Steve

During last week's 10" of snow here in southern PA I stayed at the office a little too long. At noon, I headed home. When I got to our residential street, it had not been plowed for at least five hours and the driveway was virgin snow. The car has 5-year-old 225/45-17 Pirelli Winter 210 Asymmetrico's and I don't use the ASC+T. It finally got hung up when I got halfway down the driveway because it had too much snow packed under the car. It plows snow just fine with the stock splitter! I would like to get the '96+ one as I hear it is beefed up in the motor mount areas. During my annual stem to stern inspection of the racecar, I discovered that my front subframe has two nice cracks in it. Thought about welding it and adding Turner's reinforcement kit and I still may. I also thought that I would like to check out the market for used ones first. Strangely, I have an extra front subframe from an E30, should anyone want to trade or ??? Thanks, Kirk Lachman Sin City Chapter '95 M3 #21 I-stock

The seat shoulder guards are a bit wide so the seat is set slightly off center in order to allow the driver's door to close. If you can do without the sliders you'll get about an inch or more head clearance. More so if your car has no sunroof. Conversion Techniques did the installation. Good Luck.
