I was in the white sedan that was playing with the Estoril Blue sedan in group B all day. IIRC his name is Dan - real nice guy and sweet car too. Oh, don't worry - I've been hooked on road course stuff for many years now. But the M3 is finally a car that I consider a true dual purpose car - great on both the track and on the street without compramises towards one or the other. I'm amazed. More on that tomorrow. Newbie to the list, have never owned a BMW M car, have had a '73 2002tii for a time, however. Currently have a '78 Ferrari 308gt4 and a '88 Mercedes 300E, wife has a '90 Integra GS. Have been retired in AZ since '95 but am looking to go back to work full time because of (gee, what are the odds...) the lousy stock market. So, have been looking into fixing a few minor things on the F car and maybe selling it, and if so, I KNOW that I'm going to want something "fun" to replace it, once I get a job. You can adjust them from inside the trunk without removing them. I have them, they're way cool. I also have the TC Kline monoball RSM. I love em! Extremely high quality piece, nothing to wear out, and they're reasonably priced. Hey guys, Thought you'd be interested in a conversation I had with Joe Marko from HMW yesterday. They've made up a jig from the TC Kline roll bar and are now selling them. Removable crossbrace, large feet and pads, etc, etc, etc. They're selling them bare metal, so you'd have to either paint it or get it powdercoated. I think Joe said he's selling them for $650. If you're local they can do the install for you. They drove me crazy clunking all the time no matter how tight I tried to get them. Rear end of the car felt loose because of all the slop. The bushings seemed to wear out prematurely which I guess is because of the high quality Boston/Metrowest area roads. I do drive my car in the winter and the suspension tends to take a beating. I decided to go with the E46M3 mounts. I figure for $35.00 or so for the pair and an hour of my time, I'll just replace them every 30k. No squeaks, no rattles, everything has been tight for 8k miles now. Yes, I do have a set of the JTD RSMs for sale. Make offer. Neil Maller pointed out that the eccentric nature of the '95 part will change the front-end geometry of the car, and Mel agrees as follows. Other comments or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Doug <snip> Yes, Neil is correct. If you use the eccentric lca bushings from a 95 (or aftermarket) on a 96+ m3 it will change the front geometry. If the hole is oriented outboard, it will give you added caster, slight reduction in track, and a bit less camber. I found that this orientation on my car caused rubbing of the tires on the front of the fender, near the bumper cover. If you mount the eccentric hole towards the centerline of the car you will get slightly less caster, more camber and more track. This is because the 95 m3 has different control arms than the 96+ cars (from ETK), and I have been told that their shape is indeed slightly different. I would recommend not going with the 96+ OEM fca bushings at all costs, they have open areas in them which sacrafice their stiffness. I believe that you can get aftermarket polyeurethane bushings that are concentric, but if that is too stiff for you, the only option is the 95m3 bushings. I think the orientation with the holes mounted inboard is fine, and do this on my race car. Slightly less caster gives you quicker turn-in, and the added camber and track doesn't hurt either. Supposedly you will give up some high speed stability though. <unsnip>
