I have a BMW OEM stereo head unit (AM/FM and Cassette) taken from a 1996 M3 with the harmon kardon system (not sure if that matters) and the radio code cards. Second is a peake research code tool used three times along with the book. Happy new year to all! Mark Greene

The dealer said the assembly must be replaced, about $245, I never trust these guys. How difficult, expensive, and time consuming is the replacement. Mine is a 97/4 Thanks Ed Frank 97 M3/4

Mine cracked the holder, as well as the lens, so I replaced the whole assembly on my 97 4 Door. However, I would go for the $36 ones at: http://www.bimmerparts.com Click on specials on the left, and you will see them for $36 for the whole assembly. There are several other places you can buy them cheap on the net also. Either they are quoting a price for something else, or they are blatantly attempting to rob you. I was ordering stuff from the (very nice) guys at www.bimmerhaus.com and had them send along the fog light assembly in the shipment. I don't have the info handy, but I think they're in the +/- $50 neighborhood. Replacement is very simple if the light housing is intact. Mine was not, making replacement a bit of a chore, having to get to the area from under the car, and requiring the removal of underbody pieces. Either way, a do it yourself job. #6. Front Camber - from Chuck Hanson

Date: Wed, 01 Jan 2003 09:57:08 -0700 From: Chuck Hanson <chanson60@comcast.net> Subject: Front Camber Happy New Year! I'm about to buy a set of '95 front strut "hats" for my '97 M3/4 for street/occaisional autocross use. I understand this will give me about 2 to 2.5 degrees of negative camber. I would appreciate and first-hand reports about just how much this will affect my front tire wear. The last car I owned with this much camber on the street was a VW Jetta with relatively skinny tires and the tire wear wasn't bad at all. I kind of hate the thought of frequent S-03 replacements... Thanks, Chuck Hanson '97 M3/4

But, you can just swap your existing hats L<->R, getting about 2.5 degrees of negative camber. Parts price is free :-) Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44

I just replaced one assembly yesterday, as it had broken.. you can do it from the front, but you must remove the brake duct (easy for me on the passenger side, there was no way in hell I was going to remove the driver's side again). Lots of cussing and arm-bending. Much easier to just lift car and remove underbody panels, but it was wet out so I didn't feel like lying on my back.. yes $245 is very steep. Only comment is that the fog light bracket sort of slots into another piece.. if you're missing that piece it could get pricey I guess.. I know on my car the piece that the bracket slots into is kinda lose because various pieces of plastic have broken over the years.. well, whatever, my fog lights are in place and not falling out, close enough :) - reid On Wednesday, Jan 1, 2003, at 07:26 US/Pacific, Edward N Frank wrote: > Date: Wed, 1 Jan 2003 10:25:53 -0500 > From: "Edward N Frank" <enf@iglou.com> > Subject: Fog Light Replacement > > Anyone replaced a fog light? > > The dealer said the assembly must be replaced, about $245, I never > trust > these guys. > How difficult, expensive, and time consuming is the replacement. > > Mine is a 97/4 > > Thanks > > Ed Frank > 97 M3/4 > > > > > ************************************************* > DIGEST INFORMATION: > http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm > ************************************************* > >
