The DTA P8Pro is one (includes traction control and 6 aux channels, sequential injection, 16 injector drivers, 33MHz processor, eight ignition drivers, launch control, full throttle gear shifts, etc), others of course would be MoTeC or Autronic or Pectel or... #3. RE LTW flywheel first impressions - from bmw

Date: Fri, 10 Jan 2003 04:08:24 -0800 (PST) From: bmw <m3lawdawg@yahoo.com> Subject: RE LTW flywheel first impressions Well we spent all afternoon yesterday putting in the new Rogue Egineering LTW flywheel and clutch. Along with this went the RE weighted selector rod and a new ball joint fitting on top. The car already had a RE SS in place. I would also like to thank Hendrick BMW in Charlotte for the use of one of their bays, and the Mechanic Michael Todd, who on his day off helped me put this in for a very minimal fee. Enough plugs for now on to the good stuff. So how does it feel, well considering the stock clutch with 71K miles was totally shot, it feels fantastic. THe clutch pedal is light and has a postive feel at the engagment point, The shifter engagement into first gear while sitting still is now smooth and has no notchiness as before, that was due to the very worn clutch. Now with the car in any gear the shifter has absolutly no slop side to side, that was due to the worn out balljoint on top. Once out on the road it was very obvious the car reved alot quicker and the first time I shifted the gears it was hard to believe this was the same car. Shifter feel was very smooth and positive and just the overall feel of the shifter was greatly improved. Back at Hendricks there are several mechanics who own e36 M cars and they came over and took the car around the lot. Two of the older guys said this is how BMW should have done it the first time. As far clutch chatter goes, when I first started the car Mike looked at me and said I don't here any noise, thats a good sign. He had told me the last LTW flywheel he put made alot of noise. At idle there is no chatter at all, only at light throttle do a hear any noise then it quietly fades away and your here the exhaust note and radio. This may change as the unit gets some street time on it so I will keep you posted. Over all I'm very pleased with the upgrade, if your clutch is good, I would definitely recommend the weighted selector rod and a new balljoint to get rid of the slop. I have no affliation with RE, just a satisfied customer. Tony __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Is this worth the $400+ dollars it would cost me to get into this. Also, can anybody comment on how plug-and-play the PnP connectors are for these? Thanks for the feedback. Much more lighting and a better dispersal pattern. The plug n play is pretty close to just that. If you want to hook up the euro "city light" function you have to tap one easily accessible wire on the turn signal harness, takes just a few minutes. Other than that it's click, click, done. -josh --- Joseph Bachman III <josephbachman@hotmail.com> wrote: > Date: Fri, 10 Jan 2003 14:29:52 +0000 > From: "Joseph Bachman III" > <josephbachman@hotmail.com> > Subject: Euro Ellipsoids > > > Hearing this talk of a euro ellipsoid group buy, I > am compelled to ask how > much of an improvment they are over the stock > lights? He came back with this part number: 65 75 8 357 505 This thing looks like two plastic washers separated by plastics fins. It's about a quater inch thick and 3/4 inch in diameter. My alarm works correctly now. The part number Chester gave: 65 75 8 357 500 is the p/n of the generic plastic screw thing that fastens the hood insulation to the hood. You can fit 4 front M coupe rims on an E36 M3, but the rears won't fit due to offset (17x9 ET8 on the rears of an M coupe). It looks like the seller may have bought something that doesn't fit right and is trying to sell them. I would ask the seller what the offsets are and then go from there. There isn't enough info in the ad to make an informed decision.
