Other than that, I'm sure the Z3 plate will do a better job in distributing the load, though you have to wonder how much load. It's only on rebound and anything is better than two little M10 (or is it M12) nuts clamping down on the body. The entire semi-circular bar pulled through the sheet metal. It could be that the Z3 plates would not have helped, but at least they are a complete circle which may distribute the load more evenly. WOW, what a difference! This is the way the car should have come from the factory. The factory exhaust is sooooooooooooooooooooo quiet compared to this one. The exhaust has a very nice sound to it, not very loud, but VERY nice.. It was also significantly lighter than the stock exhaust. Anyways, thanks for the help Wayne! I guess it could do serve the same purpose as the Z3 plate, but I believe Jay's reason for the piece is to hold the two bolts solid so you can remove the shocks from the bottom of the car. More importantly, you can reinstall the shocks from the bottom of the car without ever opening the trunk (not to mention removing the interior trim, etc.). This is an excellent design! I have a similar thunking noise coming from the driver's side rear of the car as another listmember (sorry, forgot who posted that bit). The noise is only on the driver's side. I'm going to take a look at that darn e-brake cable. I may try to swap the RSMs too. I've had just about every part out since I replaced the rear subframe bushings with the BimmerWorld polyurethane race bushings and put on the Rogue Engineering diff cover. I had the thunk before the new parts and I still have it after, although the RSMs are in the same position, so maybe it's one of them? Shocks are Koni DAs, one season old, btw. #9. UUC swaybarbarian installation - from Bill Kim

Date: Mon, 13 Jan 2003 21:15:19 -0600 From: "Bill Kim" <billkim@texas.net> Subject: UUC swaybarbarian installation Hi, This is my first post to the list - please be kind. :-) I recently installed the UUC swaybarbarians and had some questions. Where did you set the end links at in the rear? The instructions said to show about 8 threads, but at that length, the end link was almost resting on the control arm. I set it to almost full short position. Also, the car seems to ride much worse than before - especially in the rear. Could pre-load on the bar cause this? I have a 95 w/ GC coilovers. TIA Bill Kim
