Michael, I've lived in places all over the Sacramento area for 30 years and would be happy to talk to you about it. Sacto weather is pretty mild. We do get a dozen or so 100+ days in the summer but it's a dry heat. ;-) As far as stuff to do, it depends on what you're looking for. We have a decent live music scene, a lot of great restaurants, cultural events - much like any major city. It's not SF, but it's not a cowtown either. Traffic can get bad during rush hour but in that sense we're much better than SF. Also we're right next door to some of the world's best wine country. Cost of living is very low. Send me a private mail if you'd like info. - Bill ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Taylor Autosport http://www.taylorautosport.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com BMW M3 Specialties http://www.jt-designs.com Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm *************************************************

You (and others) in the Bay Area might enjoy some of the other non-marquee specific clubs/schools; there's certainly a variety of cars (and competent instructors) out there. The metal post that pushes on the switch is metal, but the switch itself is plastic and wears down. A kludge you can do for the short term, is to wrap a couple of thin zip ties around the metal post at the point where it contacts the switch. Worked for me. - Alain ----- Original Message ----- From: "DiVincenti, A.J." <ADiVin@lsuhsc.edu> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Friday, February 14, 2003 12:38 PM Subject: [E36M3] Door Handle Switch > Date: Fri, 14 Feb 2003 12:34:26 -0600 > From: "DiVincenti, A.J." <ADiVin@lsuhsc.edu> > Subject: Door Handle Switch > > > My car is possessed. #5. FS: Suspension set-up for E36 - from Peter Guagenti

Date: Fri, 14 Feb 2003 21:24:15 -0800 From: Peter Guagenti <peter@guagenti.com> Subject: FS: Suspension set-up for E36 I just pulled my old suspension and replaced it with Ground Control Coilovers, so it's available for sale. Parts Include: - Koni front shocks in M3 Housings - H&R Sport Springs - K-Mac Adjustable Camber Plates Front shocks are fully assembled and ready to bolt to your car. The shocks are almost brand new. I had to use the rear Konis so they are not included, although the matching springs are. These parts were on my '95 M3, but will fit any E36 3-series (and will allow you to switch to M3 swaybars). Everything sells new for ~$800, I'm asking $450. Prefer local NorCal buyers, but will ship. -peterg

#8. oil starvation question - from Hunt Hodgetts

Date: Sat, 15 Feb 2003 20:59:16 -0800 (PST) From: Hunt Hodgetts <hhodgetts@yahoo.com> Subject: oil starvation question There are some interstate exit ramps that form a loop that I have been taking at high speeds. During the turn, I consistently get the "low oil" light. This situation normally occurs for 10-15 seconds during the turn. I have heard about the oil starvation issue and was wondering if the 10-15 seconds is sufficient to damage the engine? Is there a fix to the problem? ===== Hunt Hodgetts (404) 644-6020 Full-time Software Developer Part-time wholesale auto broker Atlanta, GA __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? #9. Whistling Euro Ellipsoid Headlights - from Rex Tener
Top
Date: Sat, 15 Feb 2003 21:41:52 -0800 From: Rex Tener <rex_tener@yahoo.com> Subject: Whistling Euro Ellipsoid Headlights I installed a set of ZKW euro ellipsoid headlights a few weeks ago in my '96 M3. I originally had them flush with the hood and the bottom sheet metal. What a mistake that was. :-) The car whistled starting at about 55 mph and the whistling increased dramatically with car speed above that point. Today I moved the headlights back and down from the hood. The headlights are about as far back as they can go and they are just off the sheet metal on the bottom. That resulted in moving the whistling speed up to 85 mph. That is better, but not perfect. Suggestions or ideas to fix this problem are greatly appreciated. My replacement lens has the bumps, my original does not.. so I have one of each =P. sorry, no party numbers... hopefully someone else can help there? - reid On Saturday, Feb 15, 2003, at 21:43 US/Pacific, Rex Tener wrote: > Date: Sat, 15 Feb 2003 21:41:52 -0800 > From: Rex Tener <rex_tener@yahoo.com> > Subject: Whistling Euro Ellipsoid Headlights > > I installed a set of ZKW euro ellipsoid headlights a few weeks ago in > my '96 M3.
