Even with the 20% club discount, that's $80 each. WTF? Are they really that much cash? Anywhere else I can get them for a more reasonable amount? I saw Turner has strut reinforcement plates for $10, what's the difference between Turner's plates and the stock ones? -josh ===== Josh Wyte Momentum Motorsports 508-833-3024 After 5 pm EST __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? #2. TEC-III - from kitwetzler@mindspring.com

Date: Mon, 24 Feb 2003 14:09:20 -0500 From: "kitwetzler@mindspring.com" <kitwetzler@mindspring.com> Subject: TEC-III The other thing is that the stock MAF is good up to 290hp or so, the Euro MAF for 375 or so... any more crank hp than that, and you're out of MAF. That's where the TEC-III comes in, with a standalone you're usually using a absolute pressure system, which is easier to tune under boost, and still allows to you to really know how much air is going into the car. Most of the supercharger systems on the market, Dinan, RMS, etc, use a MAF clamp that only meters up to a certain point... then it relies on an essentially fixed map above that, which means you have basically no idea how much MORE air than the clamp value is going into the motor. Can't compensate for hot/cold/humid, etc. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

When I installed the "Series 2" revised KMACs (rear offset strut mount) last year, they were the same height as stock, within a 1/16" of an inch. Dunno about the Series 1 originals (centered strut mount). andy r.

There was a rumor that they interfere with KMACs. Not true on my '95 M3. alex f

They're $7 each, the matching gaskets are $5 each. I guess the parts guy at Hendricks thought I was asking for the strut bearing plates. Knowing how much those strut bearing plates cost, I wish I'd just gotten the KMAC's to begin with. Oh well. -josh --- alex.fadeev@verizon.com wrote: > DocWyte <josh_wyte@yahoo.com> wrote: > > > > Called Hendrick BMW, these things cost $108!! > Even > > with the 20% club discount, that's $80 each. Body shop ordered the wrong one, side moldings are smooth, center is "pebble" finished. thanks, Barrett

Me, I just walked in and asked for the MTP-91 because that's what your post said to do, so I did! Anyway, the bottom line is that it's a good spec battery at an attractive price. Neil 96 M3

Right, a generic term for a supercharger. Technically, you're probably correct in that a blower really describes something that shoves air into the manifold like the old screw screw type "blowers" as opposed to a modern crank driven compressor. However, I use the term blower to mean any supercharger. I have no idea what classes the OTC runs. -- Ron Katona

#9. OT - Seattle Driving Event Opportunity - from Walter Conley

Date: Mon, 24 Feb 2003 14:54:13 -0800 From: "Walter Conley" <wconley9@hotmail.com> Subject: OT - Seattle Driving Event Opportunity I've arranged for two local racers and BMW CCA Puget Sound Region members to donate their cars to raise money for a local man to get a bone marrow transplant to help fight Leukemia. I don't want to take up space here for the full description but the first is a package for a two-day novice school, including use of an E30 racecar, personal instruction, school tuition and CCA membership for a year. This is great for those wanting to take a school but don't want to use their own car. The second, for those wanting to leave the driving to someone else (probably not this list) is a ride in an E30 racecar at a BMW CCA Puget Sound Region driving event this summer. All you have to do is get to the Seattle area this summer. Both these items are being offered on eBay. Go to the following link for more information on how to bid on these cool rides (and help save a life): http://www.tx3.net/~predmore/ Look on the left side for "OnlineAuctions!" If their reserves haven't been met by the auction close, then they will be added to the fund raising silent auction being held Saturday, March 1st. Now we've got all the > protection we need. Nice job on the filter relocation, but isn't using that OE brace (the existing straight cross brace) one slot behind the x brace a no-no according to the crash experts, something about it not allowing the engine and tranny to slide down and under the chassis in a front crash rather than through the firewall? Took a look and found what I recalled on this subject matter: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/suspension/e36_xbrace_important_info.html Just thinking about your safety. Regards, Rich
