In my case, I just followed Wayne Miller's instructions and it worked! David Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 15:15:54 -0500 From: "Wayne Miller" <m3@waynemiller.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Bad CD Holder? This is a similar problem with the NSX and they both use the same type of Alpine cartridge (I interchange between them) so try these instructions I found: 1.Take all of the CDs out of the cartridge. 2. Turn off the car with the empty cartridge out of the changer. 3. Start the car and turn the radio on. 4. Insert the EMPTY CD magazine into the changer. As it looks for how many cd's are in there it will eject the one on the changer back into one of the slots. -Wayne _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail

Heavy oil helps (synthetic 15W50). Lifters are a wear item and if I was into the engine as far as the cams so replacement only too a few extra minutes, I would do them on anything over 50k miles. #5. Diagnosing failing motor mount... - from Michael Schaublin

Date: Tue, 01 Apr 2003 16:18:50 -0500 From: "Michael Schaublin" <mike_schaublin@hotmail.com> Subject: Diagnosing failing motor mount... How does one know if their motor mounts are going or gone? I've got 126K on the car. The symptom I'm trying to diagnose is a rather loud noise from the left side of the engine when starting. The car seems to start with much more of a mechanical bang or klunk - lots of NVH coming back through the body at the momoent of ignition. Once under way, the car runs smoothly, with no shifting problems or any other thing out of the ordinary. On the other hand there's also a decent probability that it is just low register tire noise. Many high performance tires get really noisy as they wear. This is especially so if they've worn unevenly due to lots of negative camber - ask me how I know... Neil 96 M3

#10. amsoil air filter - help - from Mdriver13@aol.com
Top
Date: Tue, 1 Apr 2003 20:19:30 EST From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: amsoil air filter - help Group, I just received my Amsoil air filter. Wow, it looks heavy duty...lots of foam and a wire mesh center. Instructions say it's oversized, but I can't get it to fit into the air filter frame. It's a slippery pig, well oiled I would say. Any tricks to get it to fit, or should I just use brute force????? TIA, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA AS Champion '97 & '00 BSP Champion '01 & '02
