Two sets Z3 Rear Shock Mount reinforcement plates. New - never mounted. $23 per set and I ship free. Two sets JT Designs Rear Shock Mounts with both "male" and "female" inserts. Date: Sat, 05 Apr 2003 22:31:23 -0800 From: Scott M <smlists@pacbell.net> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Inspection II question You think that is bad? I called for quotes on my '99 540 and it ranged from $700 (dealer) - $950 (Dinan). Since the 540 has 100K mile plugs, those are not even included, so the service is an oil change, microfilter and intake. Simply amazing they get away with this and people actually pay it.... I did my own on the M3 earlier this year - took maybe 10 hours total and under $150 to do the following: - BMW synth oil / filter - microfilter (not a fun job..) - Bosch spark plugs - replace diff fluid w/ redline - replace trans fluid w/ redline - drain and refill cooling system (BMW coolant) - Flush brake system and clutch w/ ATE superblue - fuel filter I am adding a Conforti intake now too btw. I am now doing the 540 - so far just changed the oil and filter, maybe a 30 minute job tops including jacking up the car. Will also do the following soon: - trans fluid change - coolant change - brake flush - microfilter - rear end fluid change To perform all these services the stealer wanted a kilobuck and Dinan wanted $1300. No thanks - I'll take half a Sat. afternoon and knock it off myself instead!! Anyone have a half-tread-depth 245-40-17 Pilot Sport laying around they'd like to get rid of? I'm running on a correct size MXX3 spare, but the difference in tread depth is causing a pull under power, which seems like it can't be good for the differential. Hoping to avoid new tires all around... thanks, andy r. 98 m3/2 -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .

#9. Need to take a look at my flywheel... - from DocWyte

Date: Sun, 6 Apr 2003 14:07:54 -0700 (PDT) From: DocWyte <josh_wyte@yahoo.com> Subject: Need to take a look at my flywheel... I'm the 4th owner of my car and someone along the way was quite the busy beaver. When I bought the car it had a 3.38 rear diff in it, ssk, and at some point had a euro hfm/chip in it. What I'm beginning to suspect is that the car also has a lightened flywheel in it. Is there a timing cover on the tranny bell housing that I can remove to take a peek at the flywheel? I'm assuming I'll be able to tell the difference as the stock one is a dual mass and all the aftermarket ones are single mass aluminum... I'm hoping it does have one, that'll save me tons o cash as I need to replace the clutch soon... -josh ===== __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
