Very cool unit. I live in Virginia so it is very useful ;) I hardwired the V1 using the hardwire kit (tapped into glove box light) and the remote audio adaptor (mounted in center console under armrest). My V1 is mounted in the 3rd brake light housing for a completely stealth setup. See http://www.vb.quik.com/jmciver/ for how to mount your V1 in your 3rd brake light. I bought a wing with LED light so I could still be "legal" with the 3rd brake light. He should be able to do it custom for any mirror provided it can fit the V1 remote display guts. Good luck, Wes '95 M3 > Has anyone used the subject concealed display > kit? They are available for M3's and NSX's > of which I have both. #3. Front bumper castrated: someone stole my (bumper) nuts!!! - from Msebmwman@aol.com

Date: Tue, 22 Apr 2003 21:46:42 EDT From: Msebmwman@aol.com Subject: Front bumper castrated: someone stole my (bumper) nuts!!! All; I think someone messed with my car at work. On the front I found the cover over the receptacle for the tow hook loose. I looked closer, took the cover off, and found the 2 nuts on either side of the tow hook receptacle gone!!! Damn!! I moved the bumper easily up and down. They had also removed the 2 nuts on the right (driver) side as well. I think someone tried to steal my bumper while I was at work!!! The only thing keeping it from being pulled off I guess was all the undertray and wheel liner crap. Anyway, I need to know quickly please (pretty please, please private mail me) how many nuts hold up my front bumper (is it 4?) and also what size are they (diameter and thread pitch metric vs. english etc.). And how can I get a remote control !@#$!@$# to blow the hands off the piece of shi!@#!@ that is fuc!@#$!@# with my car. About 1 month ago I found that my rear valence (black piece that the exhaust goes through) was loose on the back bumper and basically fell off and dragged on my way home. I'm in a reasonably secure parking area but I'll park somewhere else for a while. Thanks so much, Marc 95M3 missing 4 nuts (bumper)

The execution is very cool, but I'm not sure what the purpose is. Why bother to hide the remote display when the V1 itself needs to be in plain view? Now a concealed V1 with the display in plain view would strike me as useful. Guess I just don't get it. Neil 96 M3

For those with a factory wing and no third brake light, I have made boxes to install that simulate the third brake light, from time to time.
