I recently used a Colgan hood bra for the 1st time. Maybe 800 miles of freeway driving. When I washed my car the other day, the paint started coming off the roundel. I'm wondering if the bra had anything to do with it. Or, is it just old age ('97). Thanks - Jay

#7. Instrument Cluster lights - from Andrej Dolenc

Date: Wed, 21 May 2003 09:46:17 -0400 From: Andrej Dolenc <adolenc@erols.com> Subject: Instrument Cluster lights Gruppe, Got in my steed this morning for the long wet commute to work and immediately noticed something - the LCD display where the mileage and trip distance was really really dim. You could still see the numbers there, but very faintly. Since the LCD did still seem to be working, I figured that one of the LED lightbulbs behind there is freaking out a bit. Happened over the winter behind the tach. And just as with the tach, a few miles down the road the light comes back on and the odo & trip numbers pop back normally. Now, has anybody else experienced this? Somewhat flaky LED lights behind the instrument cluster? And since these bulbs do still seem to be OK, would new bulbs even help? How easy are those contacts to clean out? Thanks for any advice, Andrej '97 M3

Date: Wed, 21 May 2003 10:02:30 -0400 From: "Ron Buchalski" <rbuchals@hotmail.com> Subject: Re: HELP Bowden Cable Part # for 1995 M3 Vader Seats According to the ETK, the cable you have (52 10 8 187 999) is for mechanical seats made from 9/94 on. For build dates prior to 9/94, the cable you need is 52 10 8 122 161. It also says that the cable you have is brown, but the cable you need is blue. If you have electric seats, the cable numbers are different. Up to 9/94: 52 10 8 192 594 (white) From 9/94: 52 10 8 211 437 (grey) Hope this helps. It's amazing that the parts guy could get this wrong, since they use the ETK every day. #10. Hot tire pressures for Kumho Victoracer V700 - from Chester Wong
Top
Date: Wed, 21 May 2003 07:23:38 -0700 (PDT) From: Chester Wong <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> Subject: Hot tire pressures for Kumho Victoracer V700 Got back from a weekend at the Glen and had a pretty good time, though my usual gang wasn't there. Was in B run group along with Matt Malfa still getting used to running on R compound tires as this is my second event with them. I have 225/45 on 17x8 IFGs all around. Stock springs, Koni replacement struts/shocks and Eibach sways set at soft/soft (I think). I've been running 32/31psi (f/r) hot but was wondering if that was ideal. I've been rotating the tires (left to right, front to back), but I have noticed that the tread near the middle is a bit lower than the tread on the shoulder...kinda like the groove of doom of the Ecsta V700s. Are the Victoracer V700s prone to this as well? TIA, Chester =====
