These are all the variations: FRONT: 31 33 2 228 170, 171, 172 REAR: 33 53 9 069 132, 133 Very few U.S. 96+ M3's ever saw 171 or 172 Fronts or 133 Rears. I honestly think the horse is dead by now! :-) LOL! However, I found a lot of conflicting info on the part numbers when it came to euro springs. This old post from Wayne : > Fronts: 31-33-2-228-171 (even though I do have a/c, sunroof, etc) - $166.80 > Rears: 33-53-9-069-132 - $168.60 from Nick Alexander And this info on ucc site : http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_techtip/techtips/e36_m3_spring.htm The springs I'm thinking about appear to be Euro '95, but besides the part number I don't see any difference between euro '95 and euro '96+ springs. if anyone has any light into the fitment issues, please let me know. Will I run into problems trying to install these springs on my car or not? Thanks a lot! Rears were the same as the Euros I believe. Not sure how different the 95s are but the 96 ones (2 types..one for SMG cars and one for std vehicles - I can only assume the SMG ones are stiffer for the weight? I had the std ones) actually RAISED the ride height of my car about 1/4" I was at the time looking for something that would lower the height and still give a good ride on the streets. I liked the stiffness of them but didn't care for the height change. Just FYI - again, I didn't research the 95 ones so I don't know how much of this will be similar. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. On the front, I believe the US/Canadian coupe/sedan and ROW sedan use the "170" while the ROW coupe uses either "171" or "172", depending on how they were optioned. IIRC, the 3.0's use a different spring perch on the front. #5. One-touch rear vent windows - from John Firestone

It was forced upon me - honest! - because of some other things I just had to change about my coupe. It really has improved the rear windows, however, enough so, that I find myself using them at speeds up to perhaps 80 km/h (45 mph). If anyone is interested in the details, just e-mail me. -John '96 318is

If no one plans to smoke, you might also replace the ashtrays with the handy storage bins that were part of the no-smoker package. They were part numbers 51 16 8 119 624 and 51 16 8 119 626 a few years ago. -John '96 318is (the other 3er with a sports engine :)

Is this fairly common, and what is the typical fix? Is it something that I could do or definatly a dealership issue?
