Rob, You may be remembering my post of a few weeks ago in which I mentioned that the E36 Euro oil filter housing is also used on the E46 M3. As a result, this part is now less expensive and more available. As for using the E46 M3 cooler on an E36, I have no idea whether the radiator would fit or the lines would work. I do know that the E46 oil radiator is quite pricey. I'm working on using a generic (probably Setrab, maybe Earl's) oil radiator, AN-10 fittings and braided lines, plus the BMW oil filter housing. Clearance may be a little tight due to the larger top diameter of the 95 springs, but they work. Neil 96 M3

I highly doubt using a different oil made the valve stem seals go bad. I would not even consider this as a culprit. #6. Hat Swap - from marc@plante.com

Date: Thu, 29 May 2003 05:06:07 -0700 (PDT) From: marc@plante.com Subject: Hat Swap I don't know the part numbers, but can tell you they'll work with the springs since I did it with my 1993 325i...for a while. Unless you're doing a lot of tracking and autocrossing and really want that extra bit of camber, IMO you do more damage to your tires on commutes than you pick up in cornering benefit. I'd estimate 25-30% of treadlife wasted because I chewed up the inside shoulders of tires prematurely. Then again, I was driving 25-30k/yr with only a dozen track days. #7. Battery woes - from Tucker Ryals

Date: Thu, 29 May 2003 05:36:56 -0700 (PDT) From: Tucker Ryals <tuckerryals@yahoo.com> Subject: Battery woes Folks, I know there have been several threads of late regarding the battery of choice. Unfortunately, I did not pay close attention to the consensus since I was not in the market. Turns out I am now. The car is a 9/95 build with 44k and appears to have the original battery still in place. It was dead after sitting for 5 days over the holiday, but after jumping and driving, it has started each time since. It seems to be reluctant to do start however, so I think a replacement is in order. What is the prevailing battery recommendation currently? Thanks, Tucker Ryals __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Calendar - Free online calendar with sync to Outlook(TM). http://calendar.yahoo.com

Perhaps "gummy" is the best word to describe what they feel like when they are pressed. Has anyone else seen this, and can the switches be easily cleaned?
