I've only had it ~6 months, but the construction is solid and it is nice and light! FWIW, I bought mine directly from a HF store not too far from my hometown. I initially thought they were mainly a catalog operation, but they have dozens of stores around the country. Cheers, Tucker Ryals 95 M3 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Jim's software does raise the rev limit on the engine so that you can rev higher which can give you the ability to exceed the original factory rev limit and associated top end speed. -- =========================== georgercarrjr@earthlink.net

Jim's software modifies the rev limit. With Jim's software you still have a rev limit to protect you and your engine from some methods of destroying your engine. Perhaps a technicality. But I believe an important one. You can still mis-shift. Nothing can protect us from all forms of destruction. George -- =========================== georgercarrjr@earthlink.net

Date: Mon, 9 Jun 2003 07:53:12 -0700 (PDT) From: David Ngo <rudngo@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] factory speed limiter There is a difference between a rev limiter and the speed limiter. The rev limiter prevents the engine speed from exceeding a certain limit (sharked, as we all know, is 7000RPM.) The speed limiter is separate from the rev limiter - in stock form, it would prevent you from going past 137MPH even if you were in 5th gear with the stock diff (which puts you well under redline.) JimC's software eliminates this particular limiter, enabling the car to be gear-limited for top speed. I've read about cutting flaps, which is what I think I'll do. The question: What is the rational for removing the speakers? Is it merely to gain access to remove the trunk lining, as there seems to be enough room to wrench otherwise? Steve Stoner
