Do you have the part# for those rear shocks? Thanks, Joe ------- Koni has an externally adjustable rear shock for our cars. No need to remove them from the car to adjust them, you just cut a small "window" in the rear trunk carpet and access the top of the shock from inside the trunk. I've had them in the car for over 6 months now and they rock, particularly since I auto-x and there's no way I'd be dropping the rear shocks in between runs to fine tune the shocks. -josh __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Think of the front strut insert with the trailing arm mount on the bottom and a little knub welded onto the shaft for a RSM to rest against. HF now stocks three aluminum floor jacks: The cast side-frame style I bought (in silver) what appears to be a billet/plate side-frame version that was on display in two colors (blue and red). I believe both are 3000 lbs capacity and under $200. The third jack was also a plate side-frame style in blue, outboard (plastic?) front wheels (rather than internal alloy roller) and was a double pump-piston of 4000 lb capacity. As I recall it was priced under $300. < http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=2672 > Schuck's/Kragen has the Power Built light weight aluminum 3000 Lb racing jack on sale for $179. Local folks here have stated that this is identical to the one Costco sells for $280. It's made in Taiwan. It's very similar to the Harbor Freight "Made in China" jack except the Power Built lifts in two to three pumps rather than six or seven pumps and weighs 34 pounds rather than 37 pounds. http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDetails.asp?SourceArea=&SourcePage=SEARCHRESULTS&MfrCode=PBI&MfrPartNumber=647600&CategoryCode=3397 Kim Burgess - As always be careful when jacking...

You can still get the old internally adjustable ones if you want. I don't have a part # for the external ones, but I got them from TC Kline. Pete was very helpful and I'm sure would be happy to help you out if you call him. -josh --- Joe Tan <mailjtan@yahoo.com> wrote: > Date: Mon, 9 Jun 2003 10:13:51 -0700 (PDT) > From: Joe Tan <mailjtan@yahoo.com> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] Front Strut Question-long > > Josh, > > Do you know if this new externally adjustable rear > shock replaced the old Koni one that you had to > remove > for adjustment or it's a new addition to the product > line? #8. vibration under hard acceleration - from jpaek421@attbi.com
Top
Date: Mon, 09 Jun 2003 18:24:59 +0000 From: jpaek421@attbi.com Subject: vibration under hard acceleration Recently, I've been experiencing a vibration from the rear under hard acceleration. It occurs usually after 3.5K and is most prominent when I'm WOT in 5th gear going 65mph. I've checked the GUIBO and it appears to be in healthy condition. I'm thinking it's either a bad center support bearing or bad rear diff bushings. How does one inspect the center support bearing? Any other ideas on what the culprit might be? TIA Justin Paek

Date: Mon, 09 Jun 2003 15:55:46 -0400 From: "Ron Buchalski" <rbuchals@hotmail.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] brake question Speaking of Porterfield R4 pads...I purchased a used set from a list member, and recently used them for a three day event at Summit Point (Jefferson circuit). The only other track pad I ever used was the Performance Friction PF90, and was happy with them. Well, I was very happy with the Porterfield R4. In my experience with the PF90s, when they get very hot they would cause the front brakes to "vibrate" when the brakes were applied hard. Almost like they were unevenly grabbing as the rotor passed between them. The R4 pads never did this, and I ran them harder and longer than I ever ran the PF90s (including two one-hour track sessions, as well as one 35-minute session). The best part? The R4 pads have clips for the inboard pads, so they don't rattle at all. The only downside that I noticed is that the R4 pads make more squealing noises when coming to a stop on the street. I'm sold on the R4 pads for track use! Ron Buchalski BMWCCA #76387 1995 E36 M3 1993 E34 525iT 1999 Mazda Miata PS: This was also my first experience with Toyo RA1 tires, sized 235/40R17. My previous set of Toyos was 235/45R17 (235/40 wasn't being manufactured at that time). Anyhow, the shorter sidewalls of the 235/40R17s really make these tires work better than the larger 235/45R17. Definitely a great track tire! >Date: Mon, 9 Jun 2003 11:34:31 -0400 >From: "Ahmad Lutfeali" <m3_racer99@hotmail.com> >Subject: Re: [E36M3] brake question > > > >ps.
