It has happened to me before. They came on together because your ASC is dependent on your ABS. ASC uses a combination of throttle modulation and braking to control wheel spin. Hi all, As I was driving today, both the ABS & ASC lights came on. I had been making a right-hand turn and when I glanced at my gauges after completing the turn (track habit :-)) I noticed both lights were on. Car didn't appear to drive any differently; only drove it for about a mile to the grocery store. I made my stop at the store, and when I restarted the car, they were off. All appeared normal. Any ideas what may have caused them to go on together in the first place? Thanks, Jim Bassett

#3. Floor Mats - from shane.a.kleinpeter@accenture.com

Date: Tue, 17 Jun 2003 18:38:22 -0400 From: shane.a.kleinpeter@accenture.com Subject: Floor Mats I'd like the groups input on floor mats. I realize it's a bit of a mundane topic, but the floor mats that came with the car are shot and are pissing me off. Before I go blindly to the dealer for a new set, I'd like to know if there is anything better out there since I see lots of different things in catalogs. My main gripe with the factory ones is that 1. The grommets for the hold-downs tear out and leave holes in the mats 2. The foam on the bottom gets brittle long before the mat is worn and leaves 'crumbs' all over the floor. Yeah yeah, this all sounds lame, but my otherwise nice looking car is plagued by inferior mats. Let me know which ones you've had good experiences with. Shane K. P.S. I still need a driver's side rear HK speaker if anybody has one for sale. You now screw in a Velcro pad into the floor, then there is matching Velco on the underside of the floormat. This is nicer because now you have no holes in the floormat to collect dirt and leaves, plus you don't have to get the hold-down position precisely right. - Chris

Instead, it comes with velcro pads that replace the twist-n-lock pieces and the velcro holds the mats down. #6. M3 vs 325 Block - from Bill P

Date: Tue, 17 Jun 2003 19:05:12 -0400 From: "Bill P" <billpanop@suscom.net> Subject: M3 vs 325 Block In the hunt for more power I am considering adding more displacement to my engine. A friend has a 1995 325i short block that I can have for hardly nothing. Other then the bore/stroke is there any other differen ce between a 1995 M3 Block (S50) and a 1995 325 Block (M50)? Also is the crank and or rods in the 1995 M3 forged? Are the they forged in the 1996+ M3 Engine(S52)? What needs to be done to increace the displacement of the 1995 M3 Engine to 3.2L? I heard all you need is the rods, pistons and crank out of a 1996+ M3 Engine (S52), is that true? If I do this would it be better to use my 1995 M3 block or the 325 Block? Using the 325 block means LESS downtime which is good. Thank You in advance. Bill P
