#1. Squeaky Clutch Warranty - from Chris Conner

Date: Thu, 3 Jul 2003 14:43:57 -0400 From: "Chris Conner" <chris@digital7.com> Subject: Squeaky Clutch Warranty I complained about my squeaky clutch when my car was at the dealer for a brake light circuit fix. It took two trips, but they got it to go away by liberally lubricating it, with silicon grease or graphite. Hasn't squeaked since. After having the oil pump nut not warrantied, I guess I can hold onto this! Chris

Date: Thu, 3 Jul 2003 13:57:59 -0500 From: "Mike Frank" <mfrank28@comcast.net> Subject: RE: need help with weird noise Unfortunately I think I know what you're talking about. In my 97 it sounds like a small piece of plastic flapping in the wind or being crumpled. It started after I had my windshield replaced. I thought there was a bad seal so I had the glass man look it over again and reseal some edges. Still makes the noise. Glass man thinks it's a small piece of window tint that's peeling back ever so slightly at the front edge of the passenger side door glass. This doesn't seem to be the problem though. I can't really locate the noise well while I'm driving, but it's definitely a result of having the windshield replaced. My solution, UUC exhaust. It masks all sorts of annoying noises, including passengers. I have been so tempted to replace my seats with a cloth set from Europe because I HATE leather. You can order the seat bottoms/tops through the dealer. I don't know about availability or price. Might be another option. Let us know what you find out. I'd be curious to note how much you are spending to get things recovered. -Justin -- '76 02 (with cloth flo-fits) '97 m3 (leather... ugh...) bmw cca checkout http://www.bmw2002.net

In the ti, it has a similar center section but without the added colors from what I remember. I love the cloth seats, but the M colors are too much for me for this car. I have a place that makes the skins for the seats for about $1k front and similar rear. They are typically made with the factory leather from BMW. I think I am going to figure out something that will look good for this car and supply the materials, not sure how the cost will work out this way. Their work is excellent and I don't know if I trust a local shop with something I want to look factory perfect... James James Clay http://www.bimmerworld.com Engineered BMW Performance 540.639.9648

Is there a factory correct color combination to replace my current light gray leather? It has the two-toned doors and I was thinking the darker grey suede on the side bolsters and a lighter center - are any of these colors OEM? http://www.m3ltw.com/info/bulletin1.htm indicates that the standard cloth seats in the LWT were options from the 325IS Don't think that helps much, sorry! Yes they were the seats from a 325is however if you read the line below it states that the cars had special interior materials and colors. So the cloth is a LTW specific fabric and was not the standard cloth found in any other M3 or 3 series. For those who are still wondering about the cloth and all the seats available in BMWs please check out this site.
