Again. That brings the total of stolen parts off my car to: 1 front bumper 2.5 sets of side moldings 1 driver's side mirror 1 passenger side mirror 1 set M3 badges 2 kidney grills -kit, who is thinking about supergluing his entire car together.

You can read a drawn-out monologue on the process at: http://tech.rennlist.com/911/pdf/Adventurekevinshall.PDF I've been very happy with the surface though I would put down more epoxy if I was to do it again (1 thin and 2 thicker coats instead of 2 thin coats). If memory serves, you really should let your new floor cure for at least six months before applying any kind of covering or coating. If you can keep the floor clean and oil-free for this period, surface prep will be a breeze for you, eliminating 75% of the work. If low cost isn't a priority, Ultimate Garage and others have some truly amazing looking surfaces (though they run about as much as hardwood flooring). Now it looks like cr@p and I am thinking about how to re-do it. The guy that poured the concrete was over last Saturday and he saw it and has no idea why that happened. He said that he did his garage where he keeps his trucks a few years ago and it is still perfect. I don't know if we did something wrong or there was something wrong with the Lowes paint but overall, I am not a happy camper. They all looked great when painted, but only one has been able to take the repeated beating of hot tires and cleanup from repair work (and spills) on my M3. Griot's Garage (http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?L1=L1_3000&L2=L2_3080) has been the best. (I have no affiliation with Griot's, just a happy customer) It is a pain in the rear to do, but well worth it. I would order one more gallon than you would calculate given their coverage - I ran awefully close to running out on the second coat) I would not paint another garage without Griot's (or directly from their supplier, which I have no clue who it is). In less than a week, it all peeled up. I wrote Behr's customer service and complained, and they sent me two gallons of a special sealer to use, and credited me for the amount of product that I originally used. This sealer was NOT mentioned in the application instructions on the paint can. Boy was it a pain to strip off all the old paint and re-etch the floor, but it stayed down much better once I had painted a coat of this "sealer" stuff on the etched floor. I still have a couple patches of hot tire lift, but for the most part it's been a lot more durable, and no peeling! Still, I think I'm going to redo it with a thicker 2-part epoxy paint... some day... - Chris

I used to have an E36M3. A turbocharged one, even. It was a great car in every way. But, for the last 7 months a 330i has resided in the garage. Sure, the E46 is a bit heavier and not quite as connected as the E36 was. Just as the E36 was to the E30. But, like the E36 at the time, the new car rides better, has a nicer look and interior, better gas milege and is generally a much more advanced and better platform. Not that the E36 was a slouch or a bad car by any means. But to call the E46 330i a "sensory deprivation tank" is a bit ridiculous since it's a lot closer in feel to the E36M3 than any other car ever made, IMO. In fact, that's the thing that struk me when I first drove one - the E46 M3 isn't the successor to the US spec E36 M3. The 330i is. Sure, there are a few things that I think I liked better about the old car but 95% of the new car is better. Sometimes _MUCH_ better. That's just my 0.02. With the H&R sports and the Bilsteins (with removed bump-stops), the back was TOO low, and the ride bone-jarring. I put the stock springd back in the rear only and the ride is nearly perfect. The handling seems very neutral as well. The car now "looks" right too. I always thought the front of the M3 was too high, and the back perfect. With the H&R's in the front and stock in the back, it looks and rides perfectly. Anyone wanna buy some rear sport H&R's? Cheap? These will clear all big brake kits! I run them on my E36 M3 with 255/35/18s all the way around and no rubbing, but my fenders are rolled and I have some extra neg. camber. They will fit easily with 225/40/18, 235/40/18 or 245/35/18 tires, but it requires a bit of a roll to run the 255s. But, I dispute the 10-12 hour estimate by removing the intake manifold. I helped my mechanic change both knock sensors on the 325is by removing the intake manifold, and it took 2 hours tops (even with my "help" :-)). My 2 cents, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP/A5
