I don't know if it's intermittent or not - I'll start watching more closely. I'd like to hear about any repair options. The connection to displays is sometimes through a block of silicone rubber containing conductive strips for the display signals. Re-orienting or increasing the pressure can sometimes fix it. Flexing the assembly can cause problems like dropped pixels. Does anyone have a fix, short of replacing the whole module? Brian McCarthy '95 M3, picky person perplexed by partially pesky pixels

Date: Thu, 7 Aug 2003 01:59:04 EDT From: LoweSeaton@aol.com Subject: Re: [E36M3] Coolant and Oil Radiators Neil, I'm sorry but I am confused. Probably my fault. I know it is not important since you give the specific part numbers but what car are you talking about? In your e-mail you said M Coupe several times so I assume you really meant M Coupe. When I hear/read M Coupe, I think of the shoe looking 2 seat hard top thing which was based on the Z3/M Roadster. Did BMW ever put the S54 (i.e., new E46 M3) engine in the M Coupe? When did the M Coupe production end? I know it gets confusing because the M Roadster (and maybe the M Coupe if you are correct) overlaps the S52 and S54 eras. The 1999 M Roadster and 1999 M Coupe used the 240 hp S52 engine. M3 production ceased in 1999 - there was no 2000 M3. Then in 2001 the E46 M3 with the 333 hp S54 engine arrived. Was there a 2000 model M Roadster or M Coupe? I do know that the 2001 M Roadster used a detuned 315 hp S54 engine. Was there a 2001 M Coupe too? For some reason I thought the M Coupe ceased in 1999 or 2000. And one more question. When did the M Roadster with the 315 hp S54 engine end? Was there a 2002 M Roadster? They made a little over 300 US spec. M coupes each of those model years.
