#5. Electrical Gremlins - from parm3@comcast.net

Date: Thu, 14 Aug 2003 08:39:37 -0400 From: <parm3@comcast.net> Subject: Electrical Gremlins My son has a 97 M3 coupe with about 100,000 miles. Every now and then -- for no apparent reason -- the ABS and ACS indicator lights will simultaneously light up while he is driving. It doesn't have anything to do with hard braking, spinning the wheels or tossing the car into corners. It seems to occur in city driving, rather than out on the highway. When he shuts off the car and restarts it, the indicator lights are off. Also, his backup lights do not function when the car is in reverse, but the bulbs are fine. Anyone have experience with either of these conditions. Bob Biggs Just Bob Racing

I currently have stock springs with Koni SA's and I'm contemplating getting the GC street setup with 375/450# springs. Before I do tho, I'd love to ride/drive an M3 with the setup so I can feel how it handles and rides on the craptacular roads up here. Anyone around here have it? I'll buy the beer! Thanks! -josh ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free, easy-to-use web site design software http://sitebuilder.yahoo.com

If > so, where might I find it? > Dave, The answer to your question is yes. I remember a couple of years ago this was a popular topic on the "List." Several guys even did a group buy on the parts. I don't remember the details and I could not find it quickly doing a search of the archives. I'm sure somebody else will speak up. Ron Stygar has probably done this mod. But I remember the kit was fairly expensive - something like $400 per seat. Then it was a real bear to put in. You had to completely remove the cover on your seat. It required a special "hog ring" tool. And if you did not have heated or power seats in the first place, you did not have electric power. It was a difficult effort to get power to the seat. I think a couple of guys who bought the kits never installed them after the difficulties were discovered. I considered it but I don't have power or heated seats in my 1995. I didn't think the money and effort was worth it. Lowell Seaton '95 M3 BMW CCA #131505

#9. Power window trouble - from Pilewan23@aol.com

Date: Thu, 14 Aug 2003 11:51:57 EDT From: Pilewan23@aol.com Subject: Power window trouble I'm currently having difficulties with the passenger window of my 95 M3. If you open it, sometimes it's fine, other times it will make a noise like it was frozen and forced to open (not unlike icy windows). But the biggest problem is that once it is halfway open it won't close unless you open completely and only then it will close. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Ajay 95 Avus blue
