If you don't wanna bump to prepared, I have a deal for ya... Wanna trade for my '95 coupe stock wing plus some cash for your real bmw ltw/gt wing? It'd be great if it were cosmos black, but beggars can't be choosers. If you're interested, or know someone who might be, drop me a line... -josh ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! #3. Cam/Head work - from Tom Melton

Date: Mon, 08 Sep 2003 15:07:54 -0400 From: "Tom Melton" <tom_melton@emoryhealthcare.org> Subject: Cam/Head work I unfortunately get to work on the head of my 95 M3 (10/95 build). After reading the Bentley, the removal of the cams from the head specifies a specific tool to hold pressure on the bearing caps while one removes the nuts. It states that is not appropriate to loosen the nuts in stages as a bent/damaged cam can be the result. I know Brett at KMS rents the proper tool, but to those that have done cam swaps, or head work, is this one tool required? Are the cams that fragile? Or can one loosen the nuts on the bearing caps slowly, say 1/4 turn each on each cap, and then again on each cap, etc, until loose? Thanks in advance for any info... Tom Melton 95 M3

#5. E36 wheels and tires for sale - from Carguymb@aol.com
Top
Date: Mon, 8 Sep 2003 15:32:00 EDT From: Carguymb@aol.com Subject: E36 wheels and tires for sale I'm selling the 4 original wheels from my 1995 M3. Wheels are the factory 17 x 7.5 10-spokes, with "BMW Motorsport" cast into the face, and mounted with 235/40-17 Michelin Pilot MXX3 tires. Wheels are clean, but not perfect, with a few dings. Tires have maybe a few thousand miles left; they're just above the wear bars on all four. Should fit just about any E36 3-series, and most E46, too. Asking $500, plus shipping. I'm also selling 3 Continental ContiSportContacts, size 225/45-17. These were on the wheels I bought to replace my stock wheels (only 3; one had an unrepairable flat). This is certainly the stock size for '96-'99 M3 front wheels, and I think the sport package size for several '99-'03 E46 3-series. Also for Saab 9-5 Aero! They look to be barely worn, maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the tread is still there. I'll sell these individually. New they're $126 each at Tirerack. Asking $50 each, plus shipping. E-mail me for pictures if interested. Martin Bullen '95 M3 '97 Z3 2.8 '99 Saab 9-5 wagon

Date: Mon, 8 Sep 2003 14:54:07 -0400 From: "daanesh chanduwadia" <daanesh@hotmail.com> Subject: Re: RE: Euro / US LTW springs I'll second what Ahmad suggests - of the dozens of E36 M3s I've sampled in various states of tune, only 3 made me reconsider my insistence on sticking with the stock 3.0 pieces. Two of them were Eibach/Bilstein cars (the one with trimmed bumpstops was more convincing) and the third was a Dinan Stage 2 car. The LTW I drove wasn't all that different subjectively (granted, I was loafing) and the car I drove with LTW springs and Bilsteins was a mess - little resilience and a snappy rear (all the above were on stock wheels and tires). FWIW, daanesh > Date: Mon, 8 Sep 2003 09:16:18 -0400 From: "Ahmad Lutfeali" <m3_racer99@hotmail.com> Subject: RE: Euro / US LTW springs Charles, The US/LTW springs were approximately 20% stiffer than your stock springs. It did not lower the car like your (previous) H&R sports. I don't blame you for not liking the H&R Sport on the street; been there and done that (on my 97). Tell you what, the closest springs that match the Euro/LTW spring rates and ride height are the Eibachs. They are around 20% stiffer than your stock springs both front and rear instead of 100% stiffer in the front and 10% stiffer at the back like the H&Rs. Quite frankly, its not worth dropping $450 plus on these factory springs. I currently have Eibach on my car and really like it a lot. Just my .02 cents. AhmadGet more from the Web.
