If so, I would probably say 2-3 hours labor or so....just a guess. I've only done it once but knowing what I'm doing now it would probably go much faster. #3. FS: Aluminum pedal covers made by John Skaggs - from Msebmwman@aol.com
Top
Date: Fri, 19 Sep 2003 13:50:26 EDT From: Msebmwman@aol.com Subject: FS: Aluminum pedal covers made by John Skaggs All; Okay, I think this is the last for a while from my garage I hope. Sorry for taking space and thanks for your indulgence. I have a set of John Skaggs aluminum silver colored pedals for sale for a manual car. These are used about 10K miles and made from aluminum billet. This set has a long accelerator cover with longitudinal grooves and attaches directly to your accelerator pedal through small holes that you will need to drill. The brake and clutch pedal covers are identical, have a raised check pattern, and will bolt directly to your metal brake and plastic composite clutch pedals. You'll need to take the existing rubber brake and clutch pedal covers off and then drill small holes into the brake and clutch pedal surfaces. This set comes with 12 silver and 12 black bolts along with 12 silver nylok nuts as well as the allen wrench for the bolt heads. I won't break up the set. I do not know if these are made anymore. I think that these went for around 100$ new. You can see a picture on the web of these in a roadfly Z3 coupe thread courtesy of Ron Stygar as usual with black bolt heads, silver bolt heads, and installed: http://bimmer.roadfly.org/z3coupe/messages/archive/msgsy2000w22/15391.html I have pictures of my set if you are interested. I would like $60 shipped from 91344 by UPS ground within the continental US. Thanks, Marc 95M3 and stock is just fine for my feet.

What do you think would be a fair price to charge? Sounds like at least a twelve-pack of a good microbrew, or maybe dinner. :-) Jim Bassett

Date: Fri, 19 Sep 2003 14:05:06 -0400 From: <cardinar@bellsouth.net> Subject: Re: O2 sensor thread size While driving to the BMW Performance Driving Center last Friday with other Peachtree CCA members, a large piece of metal was thrown up under my '95 M3, and took out the O2 sensor on the exhaust pipe, right in front of the CAT. Obviously the threads are damaged in the pipe, so I need to tap it and use a Helicoil before installing the new sensor. Problem is, I can't determine the size and pitch of the sensor. All the hardware stores and HD etc don't go over 16mm, and this is probably a 17mm or 18mm, with finer threads. I called Bimmerworld where I bought the sensor, they don't know for sure. Anyone know? thanks, Rick

I liked soft/soft for tracks like Watkins Glen (long/high speeds) and soft/hard for New Hampshire International Speedway (tight turns where you need to rotate the car/autox). Give it a shot, there is no magic answer; keep playing till you find your own sweet spot. A.L. Subject: Sway bar settings Are there "preferred" or "optimal" or "recommended" settings for RD sway bars on a mostly street-driven, sometimes autocrossed 95 M3--or do I just keep experimenting? Other relevant non-stock parts are Bilstein Sports, H&R Sports, and LTW staggered wheels. The car was recently aligned and shows no unusual tire wear. Sway bars go in this week-end. Thanks, Craig

#10. Continental tires for sale - from Carguymb@aol.com
Top
Date: Fri, 19 Sep 2003 18:17:20 EDT From: Carguymb@aol.com Subject: Continental tires for sale 3 Continental ContiSportContacts, size 225/45-17. These were on the wheels I bought to replace my stock wheels (only 3; one had an unrepairable flat). This is the stock size for '96-'99 M3 front wheels, and I think the sport package size for several '99-'03 E46 3-series. They look to have very little wear: maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the tread is still there, and there's no evidence of puncture repairs on any of them. New they're $126 each at Tirerack. Asking $50 each, plus shipping. E-mail me for pictures if interested. Martin Bullen '95 M3 '97 Z3 2.8
