No, it is perfectly acceptable to jack from the differential on the E36 M3, contrary to popular opinion. Obviously, you can jack from the carrier as well. Regards, Rich

A quick smear of that, and the injectors popped right in. Of course, being a BMW, I'm sure you'd want to use nothing but fresh 5W-30 synthetic out of the bottle. :) I don't know if it's the right lube for the job, but it always worked, and I never had a problem with the subsequent 80,000 miles of driving. My fellow car club members also did this routinely. - Chris

Thanks, Mark Z Well, just one data point: I had this issue, with the ABS and ASC lights coming on almost daily. My mechanic replaced the brake light switch at the brake pedal, and after 2 days of driving I have not seen the ABS & ASC lights come on. Certainly not definitive, but with over 135,000 miles on the switch, it was due for replacement anyway. Cheers, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP/A5

#8. RE: [E36M3] aftermarket seat heater - from Murray Roblin

Date: Sat, 18 Oct 2003 11:38:43 -0700 From: "Murray Roblin" <murray@farleyroblin.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] aftermarket seat heater I did an install of the comfortseat heaters on my wife's Maxima. They work fine, maybe a bit slow to warm up. This may be due to the thickness of the leather. The kit that I received had all of the necessary components, with plenty of wire length in the harnesses. The biggest challenge was finding a circuit with enough amperage to run both heaters simultaneously. I wound up having to pull a tap off of the battery, which was a little less clean than I would have liked. I think Tach is a black wire.
