Are the stock battery cables long enough to hook up the battery or should I go purchase a longer cable? What gauge do I need? Thanks, Hunt __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? When you go to mount the Xbrace, you'll see a 3rd set of holes where you could mount the straight brace. This (as I understand it) is a no-no as that would block off the exit path for the engine (it's designed to sink down there and not intrude into the passenger cabin) in a severe crash. You know, so I'd actually notice it... Ahem. Sorry about that. I should add that I didn't mean 'discard' as in 'throw away' the existing straight brace. Just not to reinstall it. I'm also curious to hear opinions about the organization. This could also be a decent thread to hear about which race organizations the regulars of this list frequent. (if this is a "not another one of these threads" question, my apologies...) - Som

Anyway, if you're looking for track events to attend, this is a great place to start: http://www.pukkasoft.com/calendar/ Expect to see 2004 events start showing up on the calendar in the next couple of weeks, as tracks have now started notifying groups about their dates for next year. - Mark ----- mark@pdc-racing.net

Depending on your high speed driving background, and what your expectations are, they aren't a bad group to get track time with. I ran with HPDE Group 3 in NASA NorCal for about 2-3 years when I was tracking my M3. At that time, there was a "core" group of group 3 drivers that I saw at most of the events, and we all got to know one another and generally had a good time. But one of NASA's "issues" is that they don't really police who signs up for what group (at least they didn't when I ran with them). So you'll get the more-than-occasional yahoo, who really wouldn't be able to find an apex with both hands and a flashlight :-) They also have a hard time staying on schedule throughout the day. One event I went to was actually behind schedule BEFORE the event actually started. It does seem to have gotten better in recent years, but this can still be a problem (one of the race groups I currently run with is a NASA group). Hope that helps, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP/A5

I think the 95s are the only ones with 3 buttons (one is lock, 2nd is arm, 3rd is panic). I think the later M3s have only 2 buttons. I am not sure though. Not sure if they would be compatible or not. Here is a pic of my transmitter: http://members.roadfly.org/slawz3/DSCN2729.JPG Thanks for the offer! Bruce
