But looking a little closer, there appears to be a light bulb just beyond the 160 mph mark. Does anyone know what that is for ? Does it light when you reach a certain speed or rpm's ? Thanks. ---------------------------- It was explained to me by the dealer mechanic that programmed my new instrument cluster that that light is illuminated when the odometer mileage that is stored in the cluster differs from the mileage that is stored in a secret location elsewhere in the car. The mileage stored in both locations must match for the bulb to not be illuminated. Regards Jamie Howton 2002 330i 1995 M3

The OBC glows brighter in bright light (or is it the other way around?). If you cover it up or shine a flashlight on it, you can see the intensity of the OBC change (barely). Hah! Congratulations on your good fortune. I assume you're also checking the other valves to make sure none are in fact bent. > Has anyone used the BMP 272/264 cam set up? You already may be way ahead of me on this, but cams alone in a 3.2 engine, especially the more aggressive 272/264 duration, won't get you much by themselves. In addition to the obvious ECU reprogramming that's required, you'll also need to go to 24 lb/hr injectors and open up the restrictive intake plumbing. Are you also planning to backdate the new-to-you 3.2 engine to OBD-I? Neil 96 M3 - Eurosport/Conforti Cam System

#10. Coolant leak - from Larry T

Date: Mon, 17 Nov 2003 19:29:27 -0500 From: "Larry T" <ltrainsvt@hotmail.com> Subject: Coolant leak Hello everyone, This is my first post here, but I've been reading for a few weeks, and I love the info so far! Anyway, I just recently did a cooling system R&R on my 98 M3/2. That includes: new radiator, water pump, tstat, tstat housing, hoses, and fan clutch. Props to bimmerparts.com for the cooling kit! After leaving work sunday morning, i got the coolant level warning. I noticed that there was a huge puddle under my car, and it had basically leaked out the entire expansion tank all over everything. I wiped off around the expansion tank (dried coolant), because I had an idea of where it was coming from. When I got home, I saw there was coolant along the bottom of the expansion tank, where I expected it to be. I believe the leak was coming from the coolant level sensor (the black knob at the bottom of the tank), because I could see spray coming up from the threads(dried on the tank). I tightened it, but I was wondering, is there anyway to prevent this from getting loose again? It doesn't seem very tight on there, because there's still threads showing. Could I just RTV black the damn thing?? Thanks a lot! Larry _________________________________________________________________ Frustrated with dial-up?
